Most organizations have figured out that they need some type of social media presence, but perhaps some firms feel they don't need one because they are a B2B organization or their target market doesn't dabble in social media sites. However, the age 50 and older segment is the largest growing segment on social media sites. And getting involved in social media is more than just offering discounts and free products...it's about generating a buzz. Although the number 1 reason individuals go to social media sites is to receive special offers (see Nielsen link below), you can still provide your followers (and therefore, potential customers) by offering something of value. Whatever your social media presence is, make sure it offers something to others!
