AKJ Photography & other things I am currently in the process of selling other items besides photography here, please stay tuned.

When I am out in nature with my camera, I feel that I have found the one true medium that allows me to share what is inside my heart. I started in poetry and water color painting years ago to only recently discover the immediate pleasure of viewing my art on a digital screen, replaced the gratification of painting and writing. The themes of my art often revolve around reflection and contemplation, My style is a combination of sensual, feminine, impressionist and abstract artistry, which I owe to Traditional artists such as Georgia O'Keefe, Monet and Turner

I had the honor of photographing my cousin's granddaughter, which I learned is my first cousin twice removed. Madilyn is a senior this year and hopes to go on to college at the University of Minnesota. She has been skating competitively since she was very young and when I asked her what her favorite part of skating was, she said " waiting for the scores to come in" So we're going to give Madilyn a 10 for attitude, 10 for ambition, and 10 for her kind heart.

I feel so blessed by the people I meet through photography, today I had the opportunity to meet my late cousin Joe's grandson, Nolan. He is such a light and it was so wonderful to see his daughter Breanna, all grown up and being an amazing mama!!

Everyone asks what do I do with all the cards I paint. I make them to brighten the day of people who need a little boost. Some are receiving medical treatments, some are recovering from life saving surgeries and some are wish kids that I still volunteer for. If you’d like a card sent to a loved one in the US, DM me.
