❤️ THE CLOCK MOVES FAST WHEN YOU’RE MAKING MEMORIES… BUT SO DOES LIFE! ⏰🥹

Have you ever wished you could pause time just a little longer when you’re surrounded by the people you love? ❤️

Last Saturday, our family came together to celebrate the KING OF OUR HOUSE! 👑❤️ My husband, my friend, my confidant, my business partner, and the amazing father of our beautiful children.

And just like that, the day we had been looking forward to was over! 🥹

As I reflected on those beautiful moments, my heart was filled with gratitude to God. 🙏🏾

For LIFE.
For GOOD HEALTH.
For PROVISION and PROTECTION.
For OPPORTUNITIES.
For FAMILY, LOVE, and FORGIVENESS.

Because the older I get, the more I realize that money can be earned again, but TIME spent can never be recovered.

Our children are growing at a supersonic speed, and guess what? We, parents, aren’t getting any younger either! 🤣❤️

Now, let’s talk about something many of us living in the diaspora can relate to. 👇🏾

We crossed oceans searching for greener pastures, better opportunities, and a brighter future for our families.

But somewhere between the 12-hour shifts, overtime, bills, childcare, and endless responsibilities, we sometimes find ourselves with very little time to enjoy the very life we’re working so hard to build.

Especially us mothers! ❤️

We want to contribute financially, but we also want to be PRESENT.

Present for birthdays.
Present for school activities.
Present for family dinners.
Present for those little moments that become BIG memories.

Who said you have to be confident before you start? 🤔

One thing I’ve learned in life is that you don’t need to be confident to show up. You become confident by SHOWING UP! 💯

Sometimes we talk ourselves out of opportunities because we feel we are not ready, we don’t know enough, or we are worried about what people will say.

But think about it. How will you ever become good at something you are afraid to try?

Nobody starts as an expert. We all start somewhere. 🌱

That business you want to start, that new skill you want to learn, or that dream you’ve been sitting on doesn’t require you to have everything figured out.

It requires you to take the first step.

You will make mistakes, you will learn, you will unlearn, and eventually, what once scared you will become something you do with confidence. 👏🏽

My reminder to you today: Don’t let the fear of being a beginner rob you of the opportunity to become better.

Show up with what you have, learn along the way, and give yourself grace to grow. 💙

🔥 SOME DAYS YOU WIN… AND SOME DAYS YOU BURN THE WHOLE TURKEY! 🤣🦃

I came across this picture of my Thanksgiving turkey from last year, and I couldn’t help but laugh. 😂

Listen… I had put TIME into this turkey. I seasoned it. I prepared it. I was expecting that beautiful, golden Thanksgiving turkey to come out of the oven looking like something from a magazine.

But there was one little problem…

I had the oven on BROIL instead of BAKE! 😭🥹🤣

After all that preparation, I ended up with a whole burnt turkey.

And isn’t that life sometimes?

Some days you’re a rock star. 💃🏾
Everything is working. You’re confident. You’re getting things done.

Then there are days when you’re sitting there wondering, “How did I even manage to mess THAT up?” 😂

That burnt turkey reminded me of something important:

Life isn’t about getting everything perfect.

Sometimes you can be good at something and still mess it up. Sometimes you can prepare, plan, and expect one outcome… and get something completely different.

But here’s what I remember most about that Thanksgiving.

Not the turkey.

I remember my husband and my children. ❤️
I remember us being together.
I remember the laughter.
I remember the gratitude.

And that’s when I realized that Thanksgiving was never really about the big bird on the table. 🦃

It was about the people around the table.

Life will have burnt-turkey moments. Your plans won’t always work out the way you imagined. Don’t let one imperfect outcome make you forget everything that’s still going right.

Sometimes the lesson isn’t in fixing what went wrong.

Sometimes it’s learning to laugh, be grateful, and keep going. ❤️🙏🏾
