Email Marketing is defined as "a form of marketing that can make the customers on your email list aware of new products, discounts, and other services". Each month, you'll want to closely monitor email marketing metrics, such as open rate, click rate, and reply rate.

Using these metrics, you'll develop an understanding of your most effective content types, weekdays/times for sending, and audience demographics. Along the way, you'll adjust your campaign as needed.

Service In the Modern Era: Customer Journey

'Customer Journey' is defined as "the process by which a customer interacts with a company in order to achieve a goal".

The journey itself begins when a prospect is introduced to a product/service. This journey ultimately concludes once the prospect converts to a customer in purchasing said product/service.

Accordingly, 80% of customers consider their overall experience to be equally important as the product/service.

Therefore, it is imperative that this process is guided by a customer journey map. This serves as a visual depiction of the user striving to accomplish a specific task/goal with regard to your business.

The customer journey mapping process contains five core components:

1️⃣ Actor: The user that's partaking in the journey
2️⃣ Scenario & Expectations: What the user anticipates will occur throughout the journey, as well as the intended outcome
3️⃣ Journey Phases: Detailed information that speaks to the journey narrative
4️⃣ Actions, Mindsets & Emotions: What the user is doing, their mental approach throughout the process, and how they feel as a result
5️⃣ Opportunities, Insights & Ownership: General takeaways with regard to what did/didn't work well overall, and was learned from the process

Though these five components might make the journey mapping process seem complex and confusing, they actually help streamline and simplify it for your business.

When properly executed, the customer journey mapping process has two primary benefits:

👉While collaborating with others throughout the process, you'll generate a shared understanding of the user experience
👉This process ultimately yields an 'artifact' that can be used to convince others (stakeholders, managers, etc.) of what change(s) should be implemented
