Do they know who should follow up?
Do they know how long to wait before pausing the work?
Do they know which situations require your judgment?
Or does every decision come back to you?
If you are personally tracking missing documents, sending reminders, managing deadlines, and deciding what happens next, the problem may be bigger than client communication.
Your firm may be relying on you to carry the entire follow-up and escalation process in your head.
That does not mean you have failed to delegate.
It may mean your workflow does not clearly define ownership, follow-up timing, pause rules, and escalation points.
You should remain involved where your expertise matters.
But you should not have to rescue every incomplete client file.
