💡 Permanent Outdoor Lighting Installation: Project Estimate Breakdown

Thank you for choosing us to install your permanent outdoor lighting system! Our goal is a beautiful, professional, and secure installation. Our estimates are based on three key components: Level of Difficulty (primarily driven by access), Time (Labor) Estimates, and the Materials Cost Breakdown.

1. Level of Difficulty: The Access and Architectural Challenge
The complexity of the installation is often determined by the shape and height of your roofline, which dictates the type of equipment and labor needed.

Difficulty Level Description & Architectural Factors Impact on Time & Cost
🟢 Level 1: Standard Access Single Story home with mostly straight, accessible rooflines (eaves under 12 feet). Installation can be completed entirely with standard extension ladders. Minimal roof peaks or gables. Lowest: This is our base linear foot rate, utilizing standard installation time and equipment.
🟡 Level 2: Moderate Access Two-Story home or a single-story with a high/steep pitch. Involves multiple roof peaks (gables), dormers, or varying roof levels. May require specialized articulating ladders or roof anchors. Moderate Increase: Requires 20-40% more time/labor per linear foot due to necessary safety precautions, more complex wiring runs, and the use of larger/specialized equipment.
🔴 Level 3: Difficult Access Three or More Stories (or equivalent height) or extremely complex rooflines (turrets, non-standard soffit/fascia, limited access). Often requires renting specialized equipment like a boom lift or bucket truck for safe, code-compliant installation. Highest Increase: Requires 40%+ more time, and includes the separate, significant cost of heavy equipment rental and certified operators.
2. Time (Labor) Estimate
Our professional installation time is calculated primarily by the total linear feet of track/lights required and the difficulty level of the access.

Project Size (Estimated Linear Feet) Level 1 (Single Story) Est. Time Level 2 (Two Story / Complex) Est. Time
50 - 100 ft (Small Home/Front Only) 4 - 6 hours (Half Day) 6 - 8 hours (Full Day)
100 - 200 ft (Average Home/Front & Side) 6 - 10 hours (Full Day) 1 - 1.5 Days
200+ ft (Large/Full Perimeter) Custom Quote Custom Quote
Note: These estimates are for a standard 2-person installation crew and include prep work, mounting the custom-color track, wiring, power supply installation, and system testing/app setup.

3. Materials and Cost Breakdown
The total project cost is broken down into the following components:

Cost Component Description and Estimate
A. Lighting System Materials Calculated per Linear Foot. This is the primary cost, covering the permanent LED lights, custom-cut mounting track (e.g., color-matched aluminum), connecting cables, junction boxes, and power supplies/controllers. Average cost is [$XX - $YY per linear foot], depending on product brand and feature set.
B. Installation Labor Calculated per Hour or per Linear Foot. This covers the certified installers' wages and overhead. It is directly impacted by the Level of Difficulty (Section 1).
C. Specialized Equipment Fee Calculated as a Flat Fee (if needed). This covers the rental of specialty equipment like boom lifts, scaffolding, or non-standard safety gear required for Level 2 or 3 difficulty homes. [Insert typical range, e.g., $250 - $800].
D. Electrical/Controller Setup Included in Labor, with potential for Add-Ons. Includes connecting the system to a dedicated outdoor GFCI outlet. New dedicated circuit installation (if required) is a separate add-on and will be quoted by our certified electrician.
Optional Add-Ons (Quoted Separately):
Installing a New Dedicated Circuit/Outlet: Requires a licensed electrician and local permits.
Integrating Landscape/Patio Lighting: Additional materials and labor hours to tie other exterior lighting into the same control system.
We offer a professional site visit to take precise linear measurements, evaluate your roofline's complexity, and confirm power access.
