Floodlit is a new post hardcore band with a heart to share stories that matter.

“AKo” means older brother in Burmese.

Written by vocalist Elijah Kellogg, this song is told from the perspective of someone forced into soldierhood as a child. Someone who learned how to survive long before they ever learned how to love.

He longs to care for his own people, but after a lifetime of being ordered to harm them, he no longer knows how.

This story is not fiction. Forced child conscription is a form of human trafficking and has shaped the lives of tens of thousands of children in Myanmar alone.

This song is for them.
