Black Oak Solutions is proud to recognize Chief Master Sergeant Jonathan Rudolph, Civil Air Patrol Alabama Wing, one of our student scholarship recipients, for continuing to pursue opportunities in aviation and aerospace.

Jonathan recently supported the Jet Introduction Program (JETI) at Maxwell AFB, where he served as a linesman and earned the opportunity to fly aboard an Embraer EMB 312 Tucano T-27 military trainer aircraft.

Black Oak Solutions is proud to celebrate Ashley and Sarala, two outstanding young inventors from Invention Convention Alabama’s Region 5, whose journey is a powerful reminder that where you start does not determine where you finish.

Their story did not begin with a trophy.

Ashley and Sarala did not place or receive an award at their local competition. For many students, that could have been the end of the journey. Instead, they kept working. They continued refining their idea, strengthening their presentation, and believing in the problem they were trying to solve.

And then the trajectory changed.

🏆 National recognition at the RTX Invention Convention U.S. Nationals

Their invention, the Sensor Safety Saddle, was designed to improve safety for individuals with disabilities participating in therapeutic horseback riding by alerting riders or instructors when a rider becomes off balance.

At Nationals, Ashley and Sarala earned the WilmerHale Patent Application Award—an extraordinary accomplishment on a national stage featuring more than 500 young inventors from across the country.

Their journey embodies exactly why programs like Invention Convention matter.

Innovation isn’t only about having a great idea. It is about learning how to respond when the first result isn’t the result you wanted. It is about accepting feedback, improving your work, and having the courage to try again.

From not placing locally to becoming regional, state, and national award winners. True perseverance and growth.

That is what happens when young people are given opportunities to develop their ideas and discover what they are capable of achieving.

✈️ Student Spotlight | Jonathan Rudolph Takes Flight

At Black Oak Solutions, we believe that investing in people creates opportunities that last a lifetime.

Today, we’re proud to celebrate Jonathan Rudolph as he continues making remarkable progress in his aviation journey. Jonathan has successfully completed his solo cross-country (XC Solo) and his second cross-country flight—two major milestones on the path toward earning his Private Pilot Certificate. Cross-country solo flights demonstrate a student pilot’s ability to safely plan, navigate, communicate, and operate an aircraft independently, marking a significant step toward becoming a licensed pilot.

This achievement reflects Jonathan’s dedication, discipline, and perseverance, and we’re honored to have played a small role in supporting his journey.

We also extend our appreciation to his mother, Lachandra Rudolph, the flight instructors and mentors at Box Aviation Inc, and everyone who has invested their time and encouragement into Jonathan’s success.
