Bring more vitality into your life by slowing down. In our fast paced society, we often don't take time to take care of ourselves and our health subtly declines. Your body needs quiet time as well as fast time. Some suggestions:
-spend time in nature tuning in to the natural rhythms around you using all of your senses. Slow down to nature's pace; it's usually only on the run when threatened or in danger.
-do something creative with your hands and pour your love into what you are creating; craft work of any kind can be very meditative
-get a relaxing swedish massage which switches your nervous system from the adrenaline pumping fight or flight mode our culture lives in to rest and relaxation mode where deep healing can occur
-meditate
-sit quietly and enjoy the beauty and majesty of a sunrise or sunset from start to finish
-slowing down when eating can improve your digestion. Chew each bite at least 40 times and really pay attention to the smell, taste and texture of the food. Appreciate the blessing of nutrition and energy gifted to you in the sacrifice of the animal or plant.
-take time to appreciate yourself. Look in a mirror and verbally tell yourself out loud(!), "I love you, (name)." Think of your strengths, and all the good your do each day for your family, friends, and community and say thank you! Appreciate your body and how much it does for you every moment of every day. We ask alot of ourselves, but rarely do we take the time to appreciate, nurture, and love ourselves.
