There’s something I realized today…
I did exactly what I was taught to do.
Go to school.
Get good grades.
Build a great career.
Find a stable profession.
Work hard and make the family proud.
And I did. ❤️
Healthcare has been a huge part of my life, and I’m grateful for the career I’ve built. Being employed is a good thing.
But somewhere along the way, I realized something…
When I clock in, I’m helping build someone else’s vision and goals.
My time is valuable, and my growth can be limited by the structure, schedule, and opportunities someone else provides.
For the longest time, I honestly believed healthcare was all I could do. It was my identity, my comfort zone, and the path I knew.
Then I decided to challenge that belief.
I started building a digital business on the side—and in the process, I discovered that I’m capable of learning, growing, creating, and building something completely different from what I’ve known for decades.
And you know what?
I’m happier. I’m more hopeful. And I’m excited about what my future can look like.
Not because I’m walking away from healthcare, but because I’m finally giving myself permission to build something beyond it.
I only wish I had discovered this part of myself sooner.
Maybe you’ve been following the path you were told was the “right” one, too.
And maybe there’s still time to ask yourself:
“What could I build if I stopped believing I was only capable of one thing?”
Your next chapter might look completely different from your first. 🌱
