In recognition of the uniquely difficult economic times in the world right now, we want to announce a giant holiday deal for our in-person tasting room! If you buy a case of wine at the tasting room (12 bottles), we will give you a second case of wine (another 12 bottles) for just $1! We have also lowered the retail price of all of our wines to $25 a bottle in our tasting room and on our online store.

We’ll also apply this to our cases of Late Harvest cider - get a whole case of Late Harvest cans at the tasting room (24 total), we’ll give you another one for $1.

This deal will be in effect for the rest of 2025, so stock up for Thanksgiving and any holiday festivities in December you celebrate!

If you are not local, fear not - we will have a forthcoming online deal as soon as we get a couple of things straightened out on our online store. Further updates to follow on that.

Andrew and I started Friendly Noise because we love making wine and cider. It’s, as we’ve said before, kind of our art and it’s something we, at the very core of our business, just want to share with people. We do unfortunately have to make some money to continue paying bills and eating food, but we want to at least make sure the wines we are selling are at a price people can actually afford to enjoy. We thought this deal would be a great way to make sure no one goes without tasty wine and cider during all of the holiday feasting that is about to occur.

Good news everyone! We are officially available for wholesale via in SoCal!

We’ll be able to get our ciders and wines to a much broader area, including all of LA and Orange County, San Diego, the IE, and Ventura County. If you’re a shop or bar, hit us up!

Doing some sick wiz biz today 🧙! The people have spoken and they have said “more Wizard Water!”

It’s no secret we love piquette! Originally a poor French vineyard worker’s wine, piquette is a second pressing of rehydrated grape skins that results in a naturally lower ABV, lighter fizzy wine.

It’s a great beverage because you get all of the joys of an agriculturally-driven, very food-friendly product but at a more sessionable ABV and body. It’s also a great way to make the most out of a harvest by using grape skins that would otherwise be thrown out.

Also there’s never been a better time in California wine to emulate poor French vineyard workers - we’re really method-acting this one!

The pictures above are a blend of Sauvignon Blanc grown in Moorpark and Chardonnay from Santa Rita Hills. They’ll be the first of a few Wizard Water piquettes this year!

There are many winemakers that meticulously plan their harvest and winemaking each year. They take lots of measurements throughout the process, adjusting things based on the scientific work they’re doing, and end up with a delicious wine they knew they were going to make before the grapes were even picked.

We are… not those winemakers. Andrew and I are both self-taught in this business, and we’ve had long careers learning by doing. We make a lot of our winemaking decisions on the fly, and our scientific process is mostly sensory analysis and vibes. We are quite often surprised and delighted at the paths our grapes take.

For this red blend, that is especially true. We brought back our Incredible Bungling label, because this one was a real roller coaster. Due to some miscommunications, we ended up with underripe Grenache and overripe Syrah last harvest, and we didn’t know what do with them at first.

The Grenache was acidic and austere where the Syrah was sweet, jammy and round. We had a lot of ideas for them, some involving co-fermenting with other fruits, some involved fortifying, but we ultimately decided to try a blend.

We had a few different ratios before we found the right one. And it’s very fun! The high acidity makes it a fantastic chilled red, and the Syrah brought the jam. It tastes like strawberry jam and cranberry juice, and if you’re looking for a food pairing with anything covered in BBQ sauce, this is your guy.

Also want to give a shout out making the artwork for this label. It’s one of our favorites and we are very happy we got to use it again!

Our first new ciders of 2025! We are so stoked to have some new juice to share with the world!

Here Ya Go - a dry, crisp blend of some aromatic California-grown apples. This is like Basque cider meets American table apples - floral, dry, with a mildly sour background. Very easy to drink!

Wet Hop Here Ya Go - 100% Newtown Pippin apples (also grown in California) co-fermented with fresh picked Cascade hops from just north of our winery in Fillmore. The hops were picked the same day they went in to the juice, capturing a ton of delicious hoppy flavor. It’s like a hazy IPA without the beer - citrusy, piney, and a little dank on top of a light, kind of delicate cider. You better come get some before we drink it all ourselves!

Our first harvest of the year… it’s not grapes, it’s hops! As long time beer drinkers, we have a fond appreciation for these delightfully aromatic flowers, and as people making progressively stranger wines and ciders, we love incorporating them in our production plans annually!

These Cascade hops were picked today from (facilitated by ) in Fillmore, just a quick drive north of our winery. They are currently macerating in one of our cider blends - we’ll be releasing our wet hop cider at the end of the month, keep an eye out!

It’s exciting being in an area with so much to offer agriculturally, and we are starting to branch out to take advantage of this beautiful area.

7/27, Moorpark Tasting Room: Summer BBQ Party!

We’ll have our friends from in the house again making their iconic BBQ treats! You might remember them from their GIGANTIC porcetta sandwiches from our previous BBQ event. This Sunday they’ll be making one of our favorite meaty treats: yakitori skewers! If you love grilled meats (and mushrooms for the veggie-inclined), you won’t want to miss this. Yakitori is one of mine and Andrew’s absolute favorite foods, and we are stoked to stuff our faces this weekend! No reservations required, but if you plan on coming, let us know so we don’t eat all of the skewers before you get here!

To make this a date-night one stop shop, we’ll have Nicole from with her permanent jewelry booth bedazzling your arms and legs. She has a wide variety of fashionable jewelry available for you!

Also to really kick off the summer, enjoy the return of our Calimocho wine cocktail - a Spanish beach classic, this mix of cola and red wine is absolutely the drink you need with grilled meats - it’s refreshing, easy to drink, and it originates from Europe, so it must be fancy, right?
