Cawaco RC&D is now accepting grant applications for projects that strengthen communities across Central Alabama. Local nonprofits, schools, government agencies and community organizations in Blount, Chilton, Jefferson, Shelby and Walker counties are encouraged to apply for grants ranging from $5,000 to $20,000.

Grants support a wide range of projects, including job skills training, community gardens, infrastructure improvements, safety equipment, and community development projects.

The application window runs April 1 through June 30, 2026. To apply and learn more about eligibility requirements, visit cawaco.org.
