🐝🚨 𝑯𝑶𝑹𝑵𝑬𝑻𝑺, 𝒀𝑬𝑳𝑳𝑶𝑾 𝑱𝑨𝑪𝑲𝑬𝑻𝑺 & 𝑾𝑨𝑺𝑷𝑺 𝑭𝑨𝑪𝑻𝑺 🐝🚨
They may all look similar, but there are some BIG differences. Here are just a few!
🔸 Hornets are actually wasps. “Hornet” is a common name used for certain large wasp species.
🔸 Yellow jackets can sting repeatedly. Unlike honey bees, they don’t leave their stinger behind... so one angry yellow jacket can sting more than once.
🔸 European hornets are BIG! They can reach around 1–1½ inches long and are one of the largest wasps commonly found in the U.S.
🔸 Their nests can be hidden. You may find them in trees, wall voids, attics, crawlspaces, soffits, under decks, or even underground.
🔸 They can become VERY defensive. Get too close to a nest, and you may quickly find out just how many roommates are living with/around you. 😳
🔸 Seeing a few doesn't always mean there are only a few. If you keep seeing them entering and leaving the same area, there could be a nest nearby.
And PLEASE… we know there are some folks out there thinking: “Just pour some gasoline on it.” 😂We promise… that is NOT the solution. ⛽🐝
Gasoline belongs in your lawn mower... not on a hornet nest. 😂
