Nearly 75 years after it vanished off the coast of Puerto Rico, the Pan American Airways Clipper Endeavor has been found.

Deep Sea Vision, an Eco Minerals company, helped locate the lost airliner resting almost 2,000 feet beneath the Atlantic, in collaboration with the Air/Sea Heritage Foundation. Using advanced autonomous underwater vehicle technology, our team's subsea search conclusively identified the aircraft that had eluded investigators for decades.

The 1952 tragedy claimed 52 lives and led directly to the preflight passenger safety briefing now familiar to every air traveler. We're honored to have supported this effort to preserve an important chapter of aviation history and to bring answers to the families connected to Flight 526A.

The discovery was featured this morning on NBC's TODAY Show and will appear in an upcoming episode of Discovery Channel's Expedition Unknown.
