Some people spend their careers enforcing the law. Sgt. Tim Garrity spent his career understanding people. 💜

Over the years, Tim became a valued friend of the WAQRR community and a familiar voice at our Leadership Summits. He spoke honestly about behavioral health, substance use, recovery, crisis response, and the reality that lasting change does not happen through punishment alone. It happens through community, accountability, support, and people willing to walk alongside others.

“The work that y’all do is really underrated.”

Those words meant a lot coming from someone who spent decades on the frontlines and saw firsthand the impact recovery housing and peer support can make.

Tim consistently recognized the importance of recovery communities, the dignity of the people within them, and the role recovery housing plays in creating pathways forward.

Congratulations on your retirement, Sgt. Garrity. Thank you for your partnership, your honesty, and your years of service to Washington communities. Wishing you and your family the very best in this next chapter.

We look forward to connecting with you and sharing more about how quality recovery housing helps build stronger recovery communities across our state.

This weekend, one of our WAQRR-accredited providers, Truly Motivated Transitional Living, brought their community together for their annual fundraising gala. It was a powerful reminder of what recovery housing makes possible.

We’re grateful for providers like Truly Motivated who continue to lead with purpose and create lasting impact.
