Yes, it's true. You should have your beer lines cleaned every two weeks.

This is cleaning solution recirculating through a set of draft lines. It went in blue. This is 20 seconds later.

That's yeast, beer stone, and biofilm that builds up inside the tubing between cleanings. Every pint poured through those lines picked some of it up on the way to the glass. Bi-weekly cleaning is the industry standard for a reason. Go longer and this is what's waiting in the line.

Got slime in your lines? Who you gonna call?

Something just ain't right.

That's not stout. That's line cleaner pulling months of yeast, mold, and beer stone out of a draft line at a new client's bar.

Here's the thing: this bar was already paying someone to clean their lines. Every pint they served ran through all of that.

New client, first visit. Lines on a schedule isn't the same as lines actually getting cleaned.

Gross-Out Alert! 🚨

These are faucet parts we pulled from a draft system that was already being serviced by another tap cleaner before us. This wasn’t a case of neglect, the owner was paying for regular cleanings. Unfortunately, the job just wasn’t being done properly.

Proper tap cleaning isn’t just running some cleaner through the faucets. It means removing them completely, disassembling every part, and hand scrubbing it all, every single cleaning. Skip this step and it doesn't take long for the insides of your faucets to start looking like this. You don't need to worry about this with Tapworks Northwest. We'll never take shortcuts with your system!

Not sure what’s happening inside your lines? Whether you have a cleaner already or it’s been a while, we’re offering a free system evaluation, no strings attached. We’ll take a look and show you exactly what we find. Also, if you're unsure what a proper cleaning looks like, we are happy to walk you through it so you can verify it's being done properly.

Send us a message or give us a call to schedule yours.

Tower and cooler setup we installed at Regal Auburn for Ultra Flow.

This cooler has a built-in "glycol chiller" that keeps the tap tower cold, instead of the usual fan blowing cold air up into the tower. First time we've worked with this style. In theory the chiller should hold tower temp better than a fan, which means less foam on the first pour. Tradeoff is it takes up cooler space and adds complexity.

Auburn is outside our regular service area, so this was a one-time project.

Gave this beast of a tap tower the full treatment this week. 30 taps, all clean. 🍺

Full caustic recirculation, faucets torn down, and couplers thoroughly cleaned. Everything's rinsed and back to pouring the way the brewery intended.

If your beer tastes off or your foam won't settle, your lines are trying to tell you something. Regular professional cleaning is the difference between good beer and gross beer.

This system had been neglected for quite some time, but thank goodness new management saw the need to replace it and start fresh.

New panels, trunk line, stainless steel keg couplers, and a glycol power pack are the main highlights. We also rebuilt the 6-tap tower with fresh lines and insulation, and converted 2 taps on their other 4-tap tower to nitro taps. Along the way we also found a pretty significant CO2 leak that had gone unnoticed for some time. Note: you shouldn't have to change your co2 tank out every 1-2 days.

It was a long day, but by the time we left the beers were pouring perfectly.

We can't stress enough the importance of having your beer lines cleaned bi-weekly and keeping your equipment maintained. It saves you money, keeps your beer pouring the way the brewer intended, and helps you avoid a full rebuild like this one.

Well, Meta finally did it.

Last week, Tapworks Northwest — along with thousands of other beer, wine, and spirits-related businesses — got an email from Facebook saying our page would no longer be recommended by their algorithms. The reason? "Community Standards violations." Which ones? They won't say. How do we appeal? The link doesn't work.

For those keeping score: we clean beer lines. We don't sell alcohol. We don't advertise alcohol. We post photos of clean draft systems and the occasional bar we're proud to service.

Apparently that's enough.

The upshot is that fewer people will see our Facebook posts going forward. The best ways to keep up with us:

📸 Instagram (also Meta, but somehow not affected — yet)
🌐 tapworksnorthwest.com
📞 A phone call or text

And if you've got a second — liking, commenting on, or sharing our posts genuinely helps. Since Facebook won't recommend us anymore, the only way our content reaches new people is through you. Every share gets us in front of someone the algorithm has decided we shouldn't talk to.

To every other business in the industry navigating the same nonsense — we see you. Hang in there.

A little behind on posting this, but after a bit of a process, we won the contract to clean taps at Naval Air Station Whidbey Island!

23 taps across three venues — Keglers, the O' Club, and the CPO Club — and every one of them is its own puzzle. Different system layouts, different line runs, different challenges from stop to stop. What works at one bar won't always work at the next, so showing up with the right equipment is half the job: jumper stacks, recirculation pumps, the right hoses and fittings to adapt on the fly. That's the difference between checking a box and actually doing it right.

Because at the end of the day, bad beer almost always comes down to dirty lines. Clean lines = the beer your brewer intended.

Proud to service the men and women of NAS Whidbey.
