As we observe Memorial Day, Cooper Home Services stands alongside our neighbors in Mountain Top, Pennsylvania and greater Wilkes-Barre area to honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice.

This is not just a day of remembrance, it is a day of profound reflection. In our own home, the reality of service and loss is never far from mind, as many folded flags hang on my family’s walls. Each one represents a story, a sacrifice, and a debt that can never be fully repaid. These flags serve as a constant, silent reminder of the true cost of the freedoms we enjoy every day.

We carry the weight of this day with us, and we stand in solidarity with the families in our community who continue to live with the legacy of their loved ones’ service. Today, we pause to remember the fallen, to honor the families left behind, and to ensure that their courage is never forgotten.

This deck had seen better days. Now it's the highlight of the backyard.

Rotted boards, weathered wood, failing railings — this deck was overdue. The homeowners wanted it done right, so we got to work.
Here is everything that went into this transformation:

Full inspection and removal of all rotted and damaged decking boards
Replacement boards installed and matched to the existing structure
Every square inch stripped, sanded, and painted — rails, posts, fascia, and decking surface - every square inch stripped and sanded by hand!

Upper deck railing system fully updated with sleek horizontal wire balusters.

Deck lighting added throughout for evening use and curb appeal!

The wire baluster system is one of our favorite upgrades to recommend. It opens up the sightlines, modernizes the look instantly, and holds up beautifully in Pennsylvania winters.

Paired with the fresh paint and new lighting, this deck looks like a completely different structure, because it practically is.
