Yoga mats, VR headsets, and sticky notes on every surface. That was Immergo Labs HQ last week ๐ง๐ฅฝ๐๏ธ
VA providers and leaders across mental health, primary care, rehab, pain, and nursing joined subject matter experts from academia and industry in Mountain View for Part 2 of our embodied XR telehealth co-design with the VA Clinical Resource Hub (CRH) and Houston VA IQuESt.
Part 1 in June at the Boise VAMC was about shadowing, listening, and exploring. Part 2 was about building: live provider and client session simulations, a frenzy of new prototypes, and one question. How might we design live XR telehealth flows for whole health across VA CRH?
So we got on the floor and into immersive telehealth rooms. Balance, reaction time, and sit to stand assessments. Embodiment across standing, seated, and lying down exercises. Some epic paddle ball, furious bubble popping, then breathing exercises to wind down.
Day 1 ended with sticky notes. Day 2 ended with a plan. Ideas prioritized, votes cast, next steps set, and ten VA owned headsets went home with co-designers. Iteration continues. More news to come soon ๐
Thank you to our VA leads Kedron Burnett PA-C (CRH), Hilary Touchett (IQuESt), and Felicia Skelton (IQuESt), our VA co-designers Nadia S. Hussain, MD, Jami Gauthier, Shannon Gorman, Radharani "Laksmi" Simon, Shilpa Reddy, and many more, and every VA lead who made it happen behind the scenes, including travel from Legacy CRH 12, 19, and 21. Our crew Aviv Elor, Michael Powell, Alyssa Tu, Maxim Kuznetsov, Richard Borys , and Ash Robbins worked alongside subject matter experts Laura Kusumoto and Jared Duval, Ph.D. Thanks to Fogarty Innovation for hosting us as a company in residence and to the National Science Foundation for the SBIR grant behind our core technologies.
