Every Visionary-Integrator duo will see their relationship evolve. It's not static, and it should change as the business grows.

Here’s a quick breakdown of the three key phases:

1️⃣ Phase 1: Clarity & Trust Building
This is where you're learning each other’s strengths and setting crystal clear expectations. Trust is the foundation, and it's what enables growth for both leaders and the business.

2️⃣ Phase 2: Adapt & Execute
As the business gains traction, the duo adapts to shifting situations. The Visionary lets go, trusting the Integrator to execute and lead the team, while both leaders align using the 5 Rules and 5 Tools to maximize their impact.

3️⃣ Phase 3: Deep Growth & Conflict
The relationship deepens, discussions turn towards transcending goals, and conflicts arise. That’s normal! What matters is keeping the company’s greater good in focus, staying on the same page, and navigating challenges with open, honest dialogue.

Remember: Expect the relationship to evolve. Keep talking. Focus on the vision.

FlyUSA has been on an upward trajectory since its founding in 2020. The pandemic helped fuel its initial growth, but it’s remained on the ascent ever since. The company finished 2023 with about $23 million in revenue. The company expects to end 2024 with more than $40 million in revenue and hit about $60 million in 2025.

“Every day, I probably reach into the experience bucket to think about how to deal with situations,” says Shevlin. “I like to tell people it’s unlikely we’ll encounter a problem I haven’t encountered at least once before.”

He uses the Entrepreneurial Operating System, a series of concepts and tools founded by consultant and author Gino Wickman, as a framework to run FlyUSA. “Having that framework in place really helps with employee alignment, communication, and prioritization,” he says. “And I think that’s paid huge dividends for us.”
