Damon Creek Watershed

Damon Creek Watershed The Damon Creek watershed consist of a 5.6 square mile area that drains into Damon Creek.

The stream then flows northwest to its confluence with the West Fork Clarks River. Damon Creek is listed as impaired use for primary contact recreation with E. coli as the primary pollutant of concern in the 2012 Integrated Report to Congress in the Condition of Water Resources in Kentucky Volume II. 303(d) List of Surface Waters. Recently a Performance Partnership Grant was received to improve th

e water quality within Damon Creek through addressing non-point source pollution sources. Federal funds for this grant are provided by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and non-federal match funds are being provided by the Jackson Purchase Foundation. Over the course of this project the grant funding will be used to carryout water quality sampling, interpret data, develop a watershed based management plan based on the data collected, and host educational events to promote the project and good water quality practices.
