One of the highlights of our week was taking an impromptu field trip to Soar N’ Bounce in Muskegon! 🎉

Our littles had an amazing time jumping, playing, and making memories together. Field trips like these provide wonderful opportunities for children to build teamwork skills, practice communication with friends, gain confidence, and strengthen friendships outside of the daycare setting.

Most importantly, it gave us a chance to get out, enjoy a beautiful day, and have some fun together as a Little Steps family. Seeing the smiles, laughter, and excitement on our friends’ faces made the day one to remember! ❤️

We love creating experiences that encourage learning, social growth, and lots of fun along the way.

Your weekly spotlight on helpful resources, important reminders, and encouragement for our Little Steps families and friends. 👣🩷

This week’s community resource is the Summer Accessibility Open House at the Muskegon Luge Adventure Sports Park! Families will have the opportunity to explore adapted adventure sports designed for individuals with disabilities in a fun, welcoming, and inclusive environment.

🗓 Tuesday, June 9th
⏰ 1:00 PM – 7:00 PM
📍 Muskegon Luge Adventure Sports Park

Activities include:
✨ Zipline
✨ Wheel Luge
✨ Archery
✨ Rock Climbing
✨ Hiking

All skill levels are welcome, and the event is completely FREE! 💙💚

At Little Steps, we proudly cater to the needs of our overnight families just as we do our daytime families. 🌙✨

When our overnight friends arrive, we like to give them a few minutes to settle in, relax, and enjoy some free-choice activities before we begin winding down for the evening and serving dinner.

Some of our friends chose to enjoy a little tablet time, while others had fun using their imaginations in our dramatic play area. Giving children the opportunity to transition at their own pace helps create a comfortable and welcoming environment after a long day.

We love seeing our overnight friends unwind, connect with one another, and enjoy their evening before bedtime routines begin. 🩷👣

Last week, our littles spent the week learning about rules and routines in fun and engaging ways! One of our favorite lessons focused on friendship and sharing. 💛

We talked about what it means to be a good friend, how to share with others, how to show kindness, and ways we can help one another. To bring our discussion to life, we created our own Friendship Pizzas! 🍕

Each topping represented an important part of being a good friend:
🧀 Cheese = Sharing
🫑 Green Peppers = Helping Others
🍄 Mushrooms = Kindness
🍕 Pepperoni = Listening
🥖 Crust = The Heart that brings it all together

Our littles had the opportunity to build their pizzas however they wanted. Some friends added extra kindness, while others chose more sharing or helping. Each pizza looked a little different, just like each child is unique. Together, we learned that everyone brings something special to a friendship, and when we combine all those wonderful qualities, we make great friends! ❤️

We are so proud of the thoughtful conversations and creativity our littles showed throughout this activity.

As we continue growing here at Little Steps Daycare, one thing I’ve been reflecting on lately is our “why.”

When I first started Little Steps, my biggest goal was simple, I wanted to be present for my own children while also creating a place filled with love, consistency, safety, and care for every child and family we came in contact with.

Over time, this journey has become so much bigger than I ever imagined. It has become a community, a family, and a legacy built on purpose.

Sometimes in the busyness of everyday life, we all need a reminder to go back to our why. Why we started. Why we continue. Why we pour so much love into what we do.

Our why keeps us grounded. It keeps us passionate. It reminds us that the work we do truly matters. ❤️

To our Little Steps family, thank you for trusting us, growing with us, and being part of this journey. Let this be your reminder to always keep your “why” at the forefront of everything you do. ✨

This week at Little Steps Daycare, we spent time with our littles reviewing our classroom rules and routines. This was a great opportunity to refresh everyone’s memory on how we use our center spaces, share with friends, show kindness, practice listening skills, and so much more.

We also focused on safety throughout the week, including body safety and fire safety. Our littles learned more about what to do during fire drills and how we stay safe while at daycare. These conversations and activities are so important in helping our friends feel confident, comfortable, and aware of our daily expectations and procedures.

Overall, it was an amazing week filled with learning, teamwork, and important reminders that help make Little Steps Daycare a safe, fun, and caring environment for everyone! ❤️

Every day when our littles come to daycare, we work on strengthening fine motor and handwriting skills ✂️✍🏽

Here you can check out one of our littles working with Mr. Mac on tracing his name and identifying the letters in his name. Activities like these help build confidence, letter recognition, pencil control, and early learning skills in a fun and encouraging way 🩷👣

✨Wednesday Recap.✨

We took our friends to PLAY Muskegon and Pizza Ranch last week for a fun-filled day of play, laughter, and lunch! Our littles had an amazing time exploring, playing together, and making sweet memories with their friends.

We are especially proud of how well everyone sat during lunchtime and how respectful and well-behaved our littles were while enjoying their meal. They did such an awesome job listening, sharing, and using their manners 👏🏾

Days like this remind us how important social interaction, fun experiences, and community outings are for our children’s growth and development 💕
