🚗💨 Last Week at Little Steps: Wheels in Motion! 💨🚗

Our littles had an amazing time exploring all things that go! They became little engineers as they experimented with ramps, using books, boxes, and toy ramps to see how their Hot Wheels cars moved and traveled.

They also worked together to create their very own cardboard car, decorating it with stickers and paint as a team. This activity encouraged creativity, teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.

To wrap up our week, our friends enjoyed a mini car wash where they washed and inspected toy cars, promoting imaginative play, fine motor development, and learning through hands-on experiences.

Last week, our Little Steps friends had an amazing hands-on learning experience at Country Dairy! We explored where our milk comes from and learned so many interesting facts along the way.

Our littles discovered how many acres the farm sits on, learned how cheese and cream are made, and were fascinated by the robotic milking system that milks the cows every five hours and helps produce thousands of gallons of milk each day.

One of the highlights of the trip was getting up close with the animals! Our friends had the opportunity to pet and feed the baby calves, creating memories they won’t soon forget.

This field trip was the perfect way to bring learning to life, helping our children better understand where the foods we enjoy come from while encouraging curiosity, exploration, and hands-on discovery. We are so thankful for this unforgettable farm adventure! 🩷🐄🥛👣

Out Littles explored creativity through bubble art! Using a mixture of paint, bubbles, and water, they had the opportunity to blow their own colorful bubbles and create unique works of art.

This activity was not only fun but also supported several developmental skills. Blowing bubbles helps strengthen oral and jaw muscles, which is especially beneficial for our friends who are still developing their speech and language skills. As they watched the colorful bubbles form and pop onto their paper, they also practiced color recognition, hand-eye coordination, and creative expression.

Our littles were excited to see the beautiful patterns their bubbles created, turning a simple science experiment into a masterpiece! 🫧🌈🎨

🌟 Terrific Tuesday Spotlight! 🌟

One of our community partners recently shared something that truly made us smile. They mentioned seeing one of our hand sanitizer stations in a local business and thought it was such a great idea!

Moments like these remind us that the little things matter. At Little Steps Daycare, we're always looking for ways to promote healthy habits, not just within our program, but throughout our community as well.

It's encouraging to know that something as simple as making hand sanitizer easily accessible can make a positive impression and help keep families, children, and community members healthy.

Thank you to our partners and supporters who notice and appreciate the efforts we put into creating safe, clean, and welcoming spaces. Together, we can continue building a healthier community, one small step at a time. 💙

🛠️✨ Maker’s space Magic at Little Steps Daycare! ✨♻️

Our Makerspace is one of the areas we’re most excited about right now!

This space is currently filled with a variety of recycled and reused containers, bottles, lids, and caps of all shapes and sizes. Our littles are challenged to find the matching tops and practice snapping, twisting, and securing them correctly.

While it may look like simple play, this hands-on activity is packed with learning opportunities! As children experiment and problem-solve, they are developing critical thinking skills, perseverance, and confidence. They are also strengthening their fine motor skills, hand strength, and hand-eye coordination through the twisting, turning, and snapping motions.

Most importantly, our Maker’s space encourages creativity, exploration, and independent thinking. By using everyday materials in new ways, our littles learn that objects can be repurposed, reused, and transformed into something meaningful.

We are excited to continue growing this space and providing opportunities for our young learners to discover, create, and explore through hands-on learning experiences every day! 🌟🔍🧩

One of the highlights of our week was taking an impromptu field trip to Soar N’ Bounce in Muskegon! 🎉

Our littles had an amazing time jumping, playing, and making memories together. Field trips like these provide wonderful opportunities for children to build teamwork skills, practice communication with friends, gain confidence, and strengthen friendships outside of the daycare setting.

Most importantly, it gave us a chance to get out, enjoy a beautiful day, and have some fun together as a Little Steps family. Seeing the smiles, laughter, and excitement on our friends’ faces made the day one to remember! ❤️

We love creating experiences that encourage learning, social growth, and lots of fun along the way.
