August 20 marks the beginning of what is historically the most active portion of Atlantic hurricane season, which means now is a good time to make sure your home and family are prepared.

A few things worth checking before a storm is on the way:

🏠 Take updated photos of your home and belongings
📄 Review your insurance information
🔦 Make sure your emergency supplies are stocked
🌧️ Check gutters, drains, windows, and doors
📱 Keep important contacts and documents somewhere accessible

A big thank-you to the Surfside Beach business community for featuring Destination Home! We truly appreciate the support and everything this committee does to connect and promote local businesses.

They meet at the Dick M. Johnson Civic Center on the second Tuesday of every month at 10:00 a.m., and meetings are open to the public. They also host a Business Social on the first Thursday of each month.

What a weekend! 🌀 Huge thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth at this weekend's Hurricane Preparedness Event. We loved meeting so many of our Grand Strand neighbors and talking through how to get your home ready before storm season peaks.

If you grabbed one of our hurricane prep sheets, stick it on the fridge! It has our number and a QR code with everything you need if a storm hits, all in one place.

Proud to have been part of something bigger than business last week! Our Business Development Representative, Rich Coombs, joined volunteers at the post-Memorial Day beach cleanup at Garden City Beach and it was truly a special morning.

Thank you to Jolene Selwa of Crescent Realty for making us aware of this event and getting us involved. A special shoutout to Heather Tenney, VP of Member Services at the Coastal Carolinas Association of Realtors, for her responsiveness and for making Rich feel so welcome. And a big thank you to Joe of Myrtle Serve and Renee of Assisted Living Locators Myrtle Beach-Florence, SC for being great teammates out there on the beach!

At Destination Home, doing our part for the environment and showing up for our community is something we take seriously. We look forward to more opportunities like this.
