Grateful for Nicole's trust and courage to do this work. 💜

In healthcare, leaders operate in environments that demand constant service, compassion, and self-sacrifice. The pressure to care for everyone else often leaves little room to care for themselves.

Many high achievers don't need more skills—they need awareness of the behaviors and beliefs that are quietly limiting their effectiveness. Overthinking, perfectionism, people-pleasing, and carrying the weight of everyone else's needs can become barriers to the outcomes they desire.

Have you ever felt like you had to earn love, approval, or a sense of belonging by achieving?

Many of us learned that pattern early in life.

We became the responsible ones.
The successful one.
The achiever.
The one who carried the weight.

And while those behaviors may have helped us succeed, they can also leave us exhausted.

One of the most powerful lessons I've learned is this:

Your worth is not something you earn.
It is something you recognize.

True leadership begins with self-leadership. It begins when we stop measuring our value by our performance and start trusting who we already are.

For much of my life, I thought my circumstances were the problem. But through loss, uncertainty, reinvention, and personal challenges, I discovered what Viktor Frankl understood so deeply: purpose changes everything.

Purpose didn't remove the obstacles. It gave me a reason to move through them. It transformed pain into growth, struggle into meaning, and setbacks into opportunities to become who I was meant to be.

Leadership today is not just about hitting numbers, managing projects, or keeping operations moving.

It’s about understanding that every supervisor, manager, and business owner has the power to influence the motivation, trust, engagement, and emotional well-being of the people under their care.

And most leaders were never truly taught how to lead people. They were taught how to perform.

That’s why I’m excited to be a featured speaker at the 12th Annual Chicago Supervisory Skills Certification Program this June in Naperville.

My session will focus on: Purpose as Essential in Human-Centered Leadership.
