Making me think I got warped into the mushroom kingdom with this Crawlspace inspection.

It’s not every day you get to see this kind of fungal growth in a crawlspace. This takes long term poor conditions to allow this type of formation and growth.

We prescribed moisture management and humidity controls for this crawlspace as well as a v***r barrier in addition to remediation. You’ve got to stop the moisture at the source and know how to prevent it in the future.

Mold could be present and not visible for a number of different reasons, but just because you can’t see mold doesn’t mean it’s not there.

Mold starts off as micron sized spores that cannot be seen with the naked eye. Those spores, given the right environmental conditions, turn into the visible mold growth over time, that we may find in our homes, crawlspaces, ceiling tiles, or virtually any organic material.

We should be careful with the chemicals, cleaners and air fresheners we use in our homes. Many of these commonly used products contain and release harmful VOC’s and without proper ventilation can cause serious indoor air quality issues.

Limiting use of essential oils, diffusers, incense, air fresheners, candles, and common house hold cleaners is recommended. Using all natural products like lemon, and white vinegar are extremely effective at cleaning without the potential side-effects.

Slime Mold!

Popped up in my front planter by my peonies.

This fast growing unsightly mold can seemingly show up over night.

It will appear in your mulch beds, around trees, or perennials after a rain. It will first show up as a slimy liquid, bright in color then as it dries changes color and creates more of a rigid structure.

It is a non-parasitic mold that will dissipate on its own or could be removed easily or raked back into the mulch.

No need to worry about indoor air quality with this one as it pretty much only grows outside.
