How do you SHOW your IMMEDIATE value through your content?

1. Focus on customers' real-life problems. Unless your solution connects directly to an *actual* issue they're facing, they're just not going to be interested. (Hint: if you don't know what these are, pick up the phone and ask.)

2. Communicate clearly and concisely. Enough said.

3. SHOW how you stand out from competitors. Don't just copy and paste the same content that's floating across the internet. Generate something new: whether it's a new persepctive, new examples, new data, new stories, or even a new (read: controversial) opinion.

If you do these three things, your target audience will become crystal clear on what you offer.

From there, it's only a hop, skip, and a jump until they become a paying customer.

What do you think? Would you add anything to our list?

It's not enough to show your value to customers.

You also need to make them dissatisfied with their current solution.

Are they...

- Using a competitive product?
- Building a solution in-house?
- Just not addressing the problem?

If you want them to make a buying decision, you have to show them why none of the above will work:

1. Make their pain top-of-mind.
2. Remind them how that pain will hurt their business.
3. Address common excuses.
4. Make it clear they don't have a choice but to switch over.

This is a commonplace sales tactic, but are you implementing it in your content?

10/04/2021

Let's face it: your customers are busy.

So if you want them to consume your content, you have to provide IMMEDIATE value to them.

How exactly do you do that?

1. Speak to a real-life problem they're facing.
2. Communicate your solution clearly and concisely.
3. Make it clear how your solution is different from competitors.

Most importantly, don't try to ask for their business right off the bat.

Build trust by providing value. Then you can earn the right to ask them for their business.

Let us know in the comments: how do YOU provide immediate value in your content?

Most of your content sucks.

If that seems too harsh, keep reading.

A lot of the content out there on the internet repeats itself over and over again.

Even if you aren't directly copying from competitors, odds are you're hitting the same points over and over again.

So how do you stand out?

By demonstrating your real-life expertise:

- Case studies
- Client quotes
- Original research/data
- Proprietary tools/processes

These are the things that will set you apart from the pack.

Are you demonstrating your business' expertise in your content?

Are you looking for quick wins with your content?

Here's why that's a problem.

It's entirely possible that you'll have a piece of content that goes viral.

You'll get thousands of views, hundreds of conversions, and dozens of new customers.

Maybe even more!

But the full ROI from content comes weeks, months, and even years after the fact.

Because your content is always working for you.

It's a one-time investment that generates leads & customers in perpetuity.

Try finding an ad platform that does that.

08/31/2021

If you want your content to generate leads, it has to do several things at once:

- Demonstrate your real-life expertise
- Provide immediate value to your audience
- Create dissatisfaction with their current solution so they want to know more about yours
- Provide a clear next step & call to action

These steps seem simple, but they're difficult to put into practice.

If you want to succeed, you need 2 things:

1) To know your customer inside and out and how to communicate with them.

2) To know how to craft content that accomplishes the objectives listed above.

As the business leader, you can definitely do the first thing.

But you need someone who's an expert in content development to do the second.

This is why you need a content expert to come in and help you generate content that will actually, tangibly bring in more leads.

WHO'S TELLING YOUR STORY?

If you aren't out there actively telling your company and brand's story...
..you're letting your competitors do it for you.

And needless to say, they're not going to paint you in the best light.

That's why you have proactively share information that will build up your brand reputation:

1. Your vision & values
2. Your value prop (to the customer)
3. Your expertise and experience
4. Your successes (past, present, and future)

When you invest in content to tell your story, you get to stay ahead of the narrative.

And maybe even control it.

"We're known for X. But we want to be known for Y."

Gaps in brand perception are all too common, especially among fast-growing companies.

But if you don't close those gaps, your marketing efforts are going to come up short:

- You won't attract the right leads
- You won't effectively nurture those leads into customers
- You won't retain your customers

So how do you change how the market perceives your brand?

The answer: CONTENT.

By investing in high-quality content on all of your platforms, you can start to turn your brand around and attract your ideal customer.

How are you leveraging content to change your market perception?

The false dichotomy of ""brand vs. lead gen"" marketing is bulls**t.

Branding & lead gen aren't isolated activities.

They're part of one continuous cycle:

1. Brand informs your messaging.
2. Messaging drives the content you create.
3. Content generates leads and customers.
4. (Happy) customers drive brand.

Marketing isn't about choosing between brand or lead gen.

It's about creating a strategy that leverages them both to grow your business.

If you think that you can make your brand go viral, think again.

All brands are built on a foundation of:

1. Trust with your audience
2. Consistent, clear communication
3. Constant value to your customers

These are things that don't just magically appear after a couple of months.

It takes a consistent effort, one piece of content at a time.
