Carrie Searcy Taking Pride In Our Community Taking Pride in Our Community Carrie Searcy was born on an Army base in Germany, raised in South Bend, IN, and has lived in Nashville for the past 15 years.

She graduated from Trevecca University with a Bachelor of Arts in Management and Human Relations. Carrie attended the Nashville School of Law at night where she graduated with a Doctorate of Jurisprudence degree. Carrie started practicing law in 2011. She has focused her practice on criminal defense and family law, particularly representation of individuals determined to be indigent by the courts. Prior to practicing law, Carrie worked in the title insurance industry. Carrie also worked with the Tennessee Initiative for Gifted Education Reform, as well as Special Education services to promote appropriate education services for children with special needs. While in law school Carrie completed an unpaid internship at the Metro Nashville Public Defender's Office. While investigating a case, Carrie was shot during an unrelated altercation, however she remains determined to protect the rights of all people and zealously advocate for her clients and community members. She has been solving problems and conflicts for clients and community members, and wants to help our district by applying this experience to benefit the community. Carrie is married to J.T. and together they have nine children, one Great Dane, “Little Girl”, and a cat, “Boots”.
