A jammy light roast straight from Kayanza 🍇 The Kibingo washing station draws from 1,739 smallholder farmers across eighteen hills in northern Burundi. These are heritage Red Bourbon trees, many over 50 years old, grown in volcanic soil at 1,700 to 1,900 meters near the Rwanda border. Most farmers tend around 250 trees, harvesting almost entirely by hand with their families.
Greenco has managed Kibingo since 2015 with an incredibly tight, traceable washed process. Cherries are floated and sorted on arrival, pulped within 6 hours, and fermented in stream water with trained agronomist oversight. Every lot carries a tag from the fermentation tank straight to the drying table.
The result is a cup that leads with Concord grape juice. It’s a jammy sweetness that settles into cacao and brown sugar. Expect a round, juicy body with a soft, gentle acidity. It’s balanced and genuinely easy to drink. Tap the product tag below to grab a bag right here, or head over to our site to read more about the incredible work happening at Laetitia and Gaston’s farm.
