Yesterday was a day filled with some trailer work. We got called out to repair trailer door supports that broke off when the trailer was dumped. We added new plate and 2” square tube to keep the supports from hanging so low, greased the door and dump hinges, and installed a new breakaway switch. We also had a customer bring over an aluminum trailer for a gate repair.

Two jobs we wrapped up today. A customer had a mini excavator that the cylinder mount for the blade tore off, so we cut out the old steel, put a 1/4” plate inside the channel to strengthen it, and welded the mount back on. Also, we added some hook plates onto the backside of a tractor bucket.

We spent the day at Detroit Disposal doing a variety of repairs from inside compactors to a few different trailers needing work done.

One of our good customers asked about having his supports cut out and new ones added in on his trailer. To do so, we had to cut the old wiring out. So he had us re wire the trailer with all new wire, new junction boxes, and a few new marker lights were added in as well due to the old ones being broken.

A recycling yard called us asking to look at restructuring the side of their baler. It was quite the rusty/rotted mess, but they got the pit cleaned out for us, and we where able to get in there, tear out the old supports and add new I-Beam, uprights, and side supports. It turned out great, the customer was happy and now they can put their plates back on it and continue loading recycling onto the baler!

This customer’s boat trailer received a small upgrade for bunk supports. The old uprights were rotted out, so we went ahead and replaced them with brand new material as well as primed it all. The customer was thrilled with how his trailer turned out.

A quick job we took care of today for Colony Insulation. Cut off the old trailer jack, added a new 12k jack, and installed a new junction box in a different location on the frame rail.
