Happy holy week!!! Stay blessed and enjoy this wonderful time of birth and renewal. I know this is one of my most favorite times of the year living on a farm and the appreciation for all of the new babies of spring and the green grasses and flowers all around us. This weekend we are hosting Self-care Sunday with a 2 hour workshop where we will discuss the latest research and support you with creating your own unique plan for Self-care! This is a wonderful opportunity to take care of yourself while supporting a great cause. All proceeds from this event will be donated to Exclusively First Responders, a non-profit dedicated to mental health and wellbeing for the helpers of the world.

Did you know that an owner may or may not disclose whether there is asbestos in their home prior to a sale.... likely they may not even know. In addition, a home inspector is not trained to identify asbestos and will not disclose this information in a home inspection report. Ultimately, the buyer is responsible and takes on the risks. Future renovations could be very costly and materials could pose a health threat to inhabitants if disturbed.

If you’re looking to purchase a home that was built before the 1980’s, you should consider getting an inspection to check for asbestos. Here are some warning signs that a home might have asbestos:

Older heating system
Tile floors
Popcorn ceiling
Textured paint
Older roof with asphalt shingles
Older insulation
