Associated Terminals/Turn Services - Tropical Storm Ida - Storm Track and Management Plan
Associated and Turn Team:
Management is monitoring the progression of Tropical Storm Ida as it tracks towards the Louisiana coastline. Landfall is expected Sunday, August 29th in the afternoon. Our work region is under a hurricane watch. This storm has the potential of being a major hurricane (category 3) at landfall. Our work regions can expect high wind speeds and a heavy rain event with coastal, tidal, and localized flooding possible. Tropical Storm force winds may be felt as early as Sunday morning.
We have initiated efforts to secure equipment, barges, fleets, cranes, vacating births as needed, conducting cleanup activities for yards and warehouses, testing facility generators, etc., in preparation for this storm. Arrangements are being made to move our cranes prior to the storm's arrival. A specific plan for securing the MGMT is underway with the assistance of Turn Services.
Currently, all operations are continuing. Most operations will continue into late tonight/tomorrow morning (Saturday, August 28th) for final tie-downs and clean-up for the Associated group. The Port Captains and Personnel managers will assist with the direction of Turn Services Vessel personnel.
Your manager will have a more defined operational plan and timeline regarding work and any shutdowns. As such, all employees should stay in close contact with your manager, providing your status, as needed or requested.
All administrative offices will be closed on Monday, August 30th. They are expected to reopen on Tuesday, August 31st.
While at home, we ask that you take the necessary and recommended precautions for your area and ensure you have the necessary provisions for yourself and your family. Please monitor local warnings issued for the area in which you live.
Best Regards,
Mark Pisani
VP of Human Resources
