There’s so much to celebrate in June. From Pride Month, the first blooms of crape myrtles here in Louisiana, and the official start of summer, we always look forward to the sunshine and time with our community this season brings.

It’s also a special month for us here at The June Group. Our founder and CEO , also known as Emma June, was given her middle name in honor of her great-grandmother — Marion June. Gigi, as her family called her, was a warm, funny, unique woman who made bathtub gin during Prohibition (you read that right), wore three-inch heels every day until she was in her nineties, and generally defied any odds she encountered. We try our best to channel her spirit. 😉

While we weren’t named for the month, June will always make us think of where we came from and where we’re going. We’ll leave the bathtub gin to the history books. Cheers to you, Gigi! Happy June.

It was a whirlwind 24 hours for us at The June Group. 💥

Yesterday we held a fundraiser for our clients and at (thanks for having us, y’all!)! From the food to the conversation, we had a blast ringing in Mardi Gras with everyone who was able to join us.

But that wasn’t enough fun for one week! Bright and early this morning, we headed to Baton Rouge as Lauren and Conrad officially qualified for the primary ballot. They’ve both worked hard for this moment, and it was a thrill to reach this moment!

We are so proud to work with these dynamic candidates as they challenge the #1 and #2 Republicans in Congress (that’s right—I’m talking about Mike Johnson, and Steve Scalise). This is what building progressive power in Louisiana looks like. Let’s keep it up!
