With the cooler season on the way, here are some simple steps you can take to keep your lawn in great shape this winter
1. Adjust Watering
• Reduce frequency: Grass needs less water in cooler weather since growth slows down. Water only when the soil is dry 2–3 inches deep.
• Morning watering: If irrigation is needed, water between 4–8 AM to minimize disease and evaporation.
• Follow local watering restrictions
2. Mow Less Often (and Slightly Higher)
• Mow only when necessary — growth slows in winter.
• Raise the mower height by about ½ inch to protect roots and reduce stress.
3. Maximize Sunlight
• Trim trees and shrubs if they’re shading the lawn too much — winter sunlight helps grass photosynthesize and resist fungal issues.
4.Watch for Weeds and Disease
• Winter w**ds (like clover, chickw**d, and dollarw**d) may appear as the grass slows down.
• Avoid overwatering and late watering to reduce fungal problems like brown patch disease.
• If you see something say something, we will come out for service calls in between regular monthly service.
