Last night, I had the honor of being featured in the Fox special Celebrate Black History, hosted by Antwan Lewis — alongside notables like Jimmy Jam and Chaka Khan.

Yesterday started off rough, and honestly, I’m still processing parts of it. But ending it this way was truly dope.

Watching the special today, seeing personal photos I’ve never shared before, and hearing the passion I still have for my community made something crystal clear:
I’m walking in my purpose.

I am Black History!

What does trans visibility really cost?

On this episode of Collateral Damage, artist and activist Daniella Carter doesn’t sugarcoat it.

She’s saying what many may whisper…you don’t want to miss this one!

This past weekend at the 55th Black & Latino Legislative Caucus, I spoke about why it’s critical to not only advocate for our communities but to be present in the rooms where decisions about our communities are made.

Representation isn’t just about visibility. It’s about ensuring that lived experience informs how resources are allocated, how programs are designed, and how services are delivered.

As we continue expanding access to housing, workforce development, and supportive services across multiple cities, engagement in these policy spaces helps ensure implementation reflects the realities of the populations we serve.

Thank you for always being a friend to the LGBTQ community.

Grateful to be part of the conversation.

Who gets it—and who’s locked out?

In this clip from Collateral Damage, tech innovator and LGBTQIA+ rights activist B. Pagals-Minor breaks down how anti-LGBTQ+ hate speech is allowed to thrive online—and who benefits from it.

This isn’t about opinions.
It’s about systems, accountability, and real-world impact.

On National Black HIV & AIDS Awareness Day, the data is clear:
Among transgender people diagnosed with HIV, about 41% were Black.

This isn’t about individual failure—it’s about access, equity, and care.

Awareness is accountability. 🖤

Black History Month is a time to recognize leaders shaping a more just future. Phillipe Cunningham is one of them.

History-maker. Community builder. Visionary.

Phillipe Cunningham is the first transgender man of color elected to public office in the United States—and his impact goes far beyond a “first.” From transformative work on the Minneapolis City Council to national leadership development, Phillipe’s career centers equity, public safety, and people-first policy.

Visibility matters—and so does excellence.

Brian Michael Smith is a trailblazer in every sense: a groundbreaking actor, advocate, and the first Black openly trans man to hold a series regular role on network television. Through roles like Paul Strickland on 9-1-1: Lone Star, he’s reshaped what heroism looks like on screen and expanded what’s possible for trans representation in media.

This Black History Month, we celebrate the leaders whose presence changes culture. Brian is absolutely one to follow.
