I’m honored to be featured in a recent DatingNews.com article highlighting the philosophy behind the singles events we create at Beau Monde Matchmaking.

One of the questions I’m asked most often is, ”What makes your events different?”

The answer is simple: people don’t return because of the venue—they return because of how they felt.

Every event is intentionally designed to make meeting new people feel natural rather than forced. We focus on thoughtful introductions, creating a welcoming atmosphere, and helping people feel comfortable enough to be themselves. When that happens, genuine conversations—and real chemistry—have room to develop.

In a world where many singles are experiencing dating app fatigue, it’s exciting to see more people embracing authentic, face-to-face connections. The renewed interest in curated in-person experiences reflects a broader shift happening across the dating industry.

A huge thank you to the DatingNews team for featuring my story and giving me the opportunity to share why I’m so passionate about bringing people together.

When you’re from a different culture, dating a Russian-speaking woman can be challenging—here’s why.

It’s not because she’s “difficult.” It’s because you’re often speaking two different cultural languages.

Many Russian-speaking women were raised to value reliability over grand gestures. They tend to notice consistency, effort, and whether your actions match your words.

Communication can also feel different. What may come across as direct or blunt is often simply honesty. Likewise, constant texting or overly emotional conversations early on may not feel natural to her.

Family is usually a major priority, and many are dating with long-term intentions rather than looking for something casual. They often appreciate a partner who is decisive, follows through, and makes them feel secure.

That doesn’t mean every Russian-speaking woman is the same. Personal values always matter more than nationality. But understanding the cultural background can prevent a lot of misunderstandings.

The best relationships happen when both people are curious about each other’s differences instead of expecting the other person to date exactly the way they do.

Have you ever dated someone from a completely different culture? What surprised you the most?

Each week there is a new dating app coming out and while dating apps do work, for some people they can be overwhelming.

The most important role of a matchmaker is not only curating dates but also emotional support, coaching, and keeping our clients accountable.

Whether you’re working with a matchmaker or not, it is important to develop social skills and go to in person events to interact with people.

We are hosting one this Thursday, July 30th on a rooftop and there are only 2 spots left. Follow the link in bio to register.

Dating apps are great for introductions.

But chemistry? That still happens face to face.

On July 30th, we are excited to co-host a curated rooftop evening in NYC with Brandon Dawkins of Modern Dating Project for ambitious, relationship-minded singles who are ready to meet beyond the swipe.

No awkward speed dating.
No forced games.
Just a beautiful rooftop, great conversations, curated introductions, and a room full of people who are genuinely open to meeting someone.

As a matchmaker, I’ve learned that the most meaningful connections often begin with a simple conversation in the right environment.

If you’ve been feeling dating app fatigue, or you’re simply ready to meet people in a more intentional way, we’d love to have you there.

📍 Althea’s Hideaway Lounge, NYC Rooftop
📅 July 30

Spots are intentionally limited to keep the experience intimate and balanced.

Who knows? Your next great conversation might be waiting on the rooftop.

Lost a lot of weight but still feeling insecure…

One of the biggest frustrations in dating is that people often become most attached to someone who isn’t equally interested. This isn’t because people consciously want rejection—it’s usually a combination of psychology, biology, and dating dynamics.

Here are some of the most common reasons:

We confuse uncertainty with chemistry. When someone’s interest is inconsistent, our brain keeps trying to «solve the puzzle.» The unpredictability creates excitement, which can feel like intense attraction.

Validation becomes the goal. If someone we find attractive doesn’t choose us, winning them over can start to feel like proving our worth rather than building a relationship.

We idealize people we don’t really know. When someone is emotionally unavailable, we often fill in the gaps with fantasy. We fall in love with our potential future together instead of who they actually are.

Familiar relationship patterns. People who grew up experiencing inconsistent affection may unconsciously gravitate toward partners who recreate that emotional dynamic because it feels familiar.

Scarcity increases perceived value. The less available someone is, the more valuable they can seem. Psychologists call this the scarcity effect—we often want what appears difficult to obtain.

We mistake emotional intensity for compatibility. , anxiety, and obsession are exciting, but they’re not reliable indicators of a healthy match. Compatibility is usually much calmer.

Ironically, people who are genuinely interested can sometimes feel «boring» because there’s no emotional roller coaster. But healthy relationships tend to feel secure rather than uncertain.

As a matchmaker, I’ve noticed that the strongest couples usually share one characteristic:

They don’t spend their energy trying to convince someone to choose them. They choose people who are already choosing them.
