Hello and Happy New Year to all!
When we think about 2020, we think of home where unfortunately we can't be right now or anytime in the foreseeable future. This then led us to a lot of reflections about our culture and the kind of future we want to build. As a creative studio and a member of the industry that builds our built environment and products we use and interact with daily, we've always claimed to be culture creators.
With that, one of the habits we want to build this year is to double-down on this responsibility by creating a publication in Medium that names, claims, and analyzes cultural artifacts in the Philippines and its diaspora. We don't know what this publication can evolve into but we hope it can at least be the first step in creating a healthier society for us in the future, that is rooted in our past. So we invite anyone that identifies as Filipino to write about a cultural artifact, wherever you may be. Our team will personally aim to publish something at least once a month, but in order to have diverse perspectives, we're inviting you to talk about your experiences as well. If you'd like to just read and not write, make sure to follow our publication. Here's to a healthier New Year, one we envision would be a beginning of a new type of appreciation for our Filipino culture.
