A glimpse into the Rayo de Luz story...✨

It all began with our family's dream to produce a top-quality wine. We knew we found the right place when we discovered the Uco Valley of Mendoza, a viticultural region known for its incredible terroir, nestled at the base of the Andes Mountains, 3350 feet above sea level.

In 2012, we purchased several acres of land and got to work with the help of the talented Vines of Mendoza team and renowned winemaker, Santiago Achával, as our consultant. By 2016, we produced our first vintage of Rayo de Luz, a Malbec blend. The name is an ode to our youngest son, Kiran, which in our native language translates to 'Ray of Light' (Rayo de Luz in Spanish), an apt description for the abundant sunlight that warms the land.

The Parekh Vineyards now offer a super-premium Malbec Blend and a Rosè. These wines carry the spirit of our family and our love for Mendoza. We are so excited to share our Ray of Light with you!

Meet Pablo Martorell 🍇

He is one of the amazing winemakers at the Vines of Mendoza.

We are so lucky we get to work with Pablo. He was born just around the corner from the vineyards and has an incredible knowledge of Mendoza’s terroir. Pablo has worked in some of the most esteemed wineries in Mendoza, as well as Bordeaux!

It’s people like Pablo that make us even more excited about winemaking.

A throwback to this past summer when, due to COVID restrictions, we were unable to travel to Argentina to blend our 2021 wines.

So what did we do? We improvised and had the wine varietals and blending tools sent to us. Here, in the comfort of our backyard, we conducted a virtual blending session with our amazing winemaking team back in Mendoza.

It will be several years before we get to taste the final ‘virtual’ blend, but we can’t wait! The art of winemaking must go on!
