Same table. Different conversations. Lasting impact.

Our next Dining & Social Etiquette Sunday Edition is coming to Fandi Mata in Brooklyn on Sunday, October 25 and this time, there are two experiences in one day.

YOUTH | Ages 12–17
11:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m. | $135 per person
A guided brunch experience designed to help young people strengthen the skills that matter at the table and beyond it—conversation, confidence, social awareness and knowing how to conduct themselves comfortably in different settings.

ADULT
5:00–7:00 p.m. | $175 per person
An evening dining experience where we’ll explore the details of dining and social etiquette while also practicing the skills that help us engage others with confidence, consideration and ease.

Because good etiquette isn’t about being stiff or perfect. It’s about knowing what to do, understanding why it matters, and feeling comfortable enough to put it into practice in real life.

Both sessions include a guided, multi-course dining experience and hands-on instruction from Etiquette Speaks, LLC.

There is something special about helping people feel prepared before they enter the room.

In September, I had the pleasure of leading a special social etiquette session China Institute of America of America in preparation for its Centennial Grand Fashion Gala at The Pierre later that evening.

Swipe for a glimpse inside our morning together—from instruction to practice.

We didn’t simply talk about etiquette. We practiced.
We worked through starting conversations, engaging with others, navigating the social side of a formal event, and some of the small things that can make a very elegant room feel a lot less intimidating.

One of the ideas I shared was simple: Connect, don’t collect. Because whether you are attending a black-tie gala, a business dinner, a conference, or another important gathering, the goal isn’t to work the room or accumulate as many introductions as possible. It is to be present, make genuine connections, and know how to engage with people well.

Etiquette isn’t just knowing what to do with a fork or understanding a dress code. It is also about confidence, consideration, communication, and being able to move comfortably in different spaces.

I thoroughly enjoyed working with everyone at the China Institute—teaching, practicing, laughing, and preparing together before such a significant evening celebrating the Institute’s centennial.

Learn it. Practice it. Use it.

That’s when etiquette becomes more than information. It becomes something you can actually carry into the room with you.

✨️A beautifully set table gets our attention.

But what happens around the table is what people tend to remember.

That is one of the reasons I’ve always been interested in etiquette beyond the mechanics of dining. The setting may be gorgeous. The food may be wonderful. Everyone may be dressed beautifully. But the actual experience is shaped by the people in the room.

Were people made to feel welcome?
Did conversation flow?
Was there awareness of others?
Did people leave feeling seen, respected and included?

Because knowing what to do matters, but understanding how your presence contributes to the experience of everyone around you matters just as much, if not more.

We closed out August at the table. 🍽️

Yesterday, Etiquette Speaks hosted our Adult Dining & Social Etiquette experience Fandi Mata in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.

These sessions are about much more than knowing which fork to use.

We talked about arriving prepared, reading the room, engaging in conversation, cell phone etiquette, navigating the table, using utensils with confidence, and the small habits that help us move through dining and social settings with greater ease.

One of the things I love most about teaching etiquette in an actual restaurant is that we don’t just talk about the skills. We practice them in real time, as the experience unfolds around the table and Fandi Mata gave us such a vibrant setting for this one.

August has been a full month for Etiquette Speaks — College Edition, Family Edition, and now our Adult experience. Each table created for a different audience, but always with the same goal:
Confidence. Awareness. Courtesy. Presence.

📍A NEW LOCATION📍 The same intimate Etiquette Speaks experience. 🍽️

Our Adult Dining & Social Etiquette session is happening tomorrow, Sunday, August 30, and we’ll now be gathering at Fandi Mata in Brooklyn.

Fandi Mata gives a warm, visually distinctive setting in Williamsburg with Mediterranean-inspired cuisine and globally influenced hospitality. It's a fitting backdrop for an intimate evening focused on dining, conversation, and social confidence.

Our interactive dining experience is for adults who want to feel more confident navigating the table, conversation, and the social moments that come with dinners, celebrations, professional events, networking, and simply meeting new people.

Around the table, we’ll talk about how to:
• Arrive and engage with confidence
• Navigate place settings
• Dine with greater ease
• Hold meaningful, appropriate conversation
• Feel more comfortable in social settings without feeling stiff or overly rehearsed

And because I believe etiquette is best learned by actually practicing it, we’ll do it over a three-course meal in a real dining environment.

Today’s classroom looked a little different.

I had the pleasure of creating a private Social & Dining Etiquette experience for members of the cast of Bunch of Friends, the YouTube sitcom with an audience approaching one million subscribers.

I can’t share what brought them to Etiquette Speaks, LLC just yet (you’ll have to wait for the episode airing for that) but I can say that we spent our time talking about how we show up: social confidence, professional presence, conversation, first impressions, dining etiquette and knowing how to read the room.

And because I wanted the experience to feel like theirs, I brought a little Bunch of Friends into the room too.

Thank you to the team for trusting Etiquette Speaks, LLC with this experience. I’m looking forward to seeing it all come together on screen.

College Edition is officially at the table. 🎓🍽️

This week, Etiquette Speaks hosted our Dining + Social Etiquette: College Edition Patrick Steakhouse in Brooklyn. It was an experience created specifically for undergraduate students preparing for the moments that happen beyond the classroom.

One of the things I especially appreciated about this College Edition was the range of perspective around the table. We had a student preparing to begin her first year of college and another entering her senior year. Two very different points in the college journey, yet both with opportunities ahead that call for confidence, social awareness and knowing how to navigate the room.

There are internship dinners. Networking events. Meetings with professors and professionals. Social occasions. Business meals. And sometimes, the expectations in those rooms are never actually explained.

So we talked about them. Around the table, we explored dining etiquette, social conversation, cell phone etiquette, table presence, and the small details that help us move through different environments with greater confidence and awareness.

And we did it the way I believe etiquette is best learned: in a real setting, around a real table, with an opportunity to practice in the moment.

The goal is not perfection. It is knowing enough that you can stop worrying about what you're supposed to do and begin focusing on the people, the conversation, and the opportunity in front of you.

As college students prepare for another academic year, some of the most important lessons they will use professionally will happen outside of the classroom.

A business dinner. A networking reception. An internship event. A conversation with a professor, executive or future employer.

Our Dining + Social Etiquette: College Edition gives currently enrolled undergraduate students an opportunity to practice those skills in a real dining environment.
