Here are a few more shifts you can make for a smoother sleep transition:

💜 Understand that it may take a week or so for your child's internal clock to fully adjust. Be patient and consistent during this transition period.

💜 If your child's mealtimes are closely linked to their sleep schedule, consider adjusting meal times along with the sleep schedule.

For instance, if they usually eat dinner at 6 PM, start having dinner at 5 PM as part of the gradual adjustment.

💜 Children can sense stress and anxiety. Stay positive and reassuring during the transition. A calm and confident approach can help your child feel secure.

In this post, we'll delve into what roomsharing and bedsharing mean, the AAP's recommendations, and the reasons behind them.

Reasons for AAP's Roomsharing Recommendation:

😴 Reduced SIDS Risk
Studies have consistently shown that roomsharing decreases the risk of SIDS. Being close to parents allows them to monitor the baby's breathing and easily respond to any signs of distress.
