To grow, you have to be willing to be a student of the game and I am so grateful to VRM for welcoming us to the VRM family. Spent time with Sarah Snyder who are also part of the VRM Biologik family and making inputs for American farmers using the same process and technology we are bringing to the Gambia in Pennsylvania. The science behind VRM speaks for itself and so glad so many farmers are realizing the importance of transitioning from chemical fertilizers to biological inputs. One of the biggest challenges with making that transition is that farmers are often asked to sacrifice yield initially or take on higher costs. Most farmers simply can’t afford to do that. What makes this technology so different is that farmers don’t have to choose between productivity, affordability and healthier soils. They can have all three. My greatest gifts has been learning from people who have already walked this path. Hearing about their journey, their challenges, what worked, what didn’t and the lessons they have learned is invaluable as we begin our own. There is no substitute for learning from experience. So grateful to Sarah and Jeff for hosting me and being so open. Your kindness, openness and honesty has motivated me in ways I can’t fully explain. Thank you. And Aidan, you already know. Thank you Habibi. My life would be very uninteresting without you and Cole Leighton Burston. I love and appreciate you guys so much and so grateful to not only be in business with you but knowing that you are one of my favorite humans and to have you as a friend. Thank you for everything you do to make our world better. I feel very fortunate and I don’t take this opportunity for granted. The future of farming is regenerative and we are leading it and yes I will always need Chanel booths for the farm and all of you will continue funding my addiction. Sorry. 😅

Yesterday, my baby sister completed half of her deen. ❤️

It’s hard to put into words what this day means to me. Aisha is not just my little sister, she has been like a daughter and a second mother to my children. She helped me raise them with so much love, patience and kindness. Through every season of life, she has never once hurt me. She has always honored, respected and loved me, and for that I will always be grateful. Watching you begin this new chapter fills my heart with joy and peace. Me and the babies will miss you so much. This house will never be the same without you. I love you and so proud of you. Muhamed, please take care of my sister for me. Never let her cry.

Ya Allah, bless this marriage with mercy, tranquility, and unwavering love. Make their home a place where faith is strengthened, hearts are softened, and laughter never departs. Protect them from every hardship, every evil eye, and every test that could divide them. Grant her husband the wisdom to lead with kindness, the patience to understand her and the strength to protect, honor and cherish her in every season of life. Make him the coolness of her eyes, just as she is the coolness of his. Let them always choose each other with love, forgiveness and compassion. May Allah place barakah in every step they take together, bless them with righteous children if it is His will and allow them to grow old hand in hand until they are reunited in Jannatul Firdaus.

I love you so much, Aisha. Thank you for being a companion. May this be the beginning of a lifetime of happiness. 🤍

Every farmer is happy when the rain drops and it’s planting season. This week we are so happy to welcome Aidan Bellamy to our farm and officially becoming a licensee for VRM biologik! We are bringing 40 years of proven technology and science to Gambian and west African farmers. Our goal is to make The Gambia and the region food sovereign and less dependent on chemical and imported fertilizers. For our first year, we will produce 25,000 tons of fertilizer in partnership with the ministry of agriculture that we will distribute for free to Gambian farmers to try this new technology and decide for themselves before we ask government to commit to subsidizing or buying from us.
We don’t think farmers need to choose between yield and protecting the environment. We believe they can achieve both. We will be producing the catalysts locally so organic Fertlizer companies or anyone who wants to make their own fertilizer can buy our catalysts and the blended Faro inputs to help farmers slowly transition from chemical or organic. This has been a vision both Aidan and I carried since we first met and I am so glad that after years. It’s finally happening and it’s all happening at our Jimara site. Send us lots of prayers and positive vibes. This is good and this is needed

Lately Monday at the office looks a lot like this. Today we met with the 15 communities surrounding our Banna Tenda farm and Jimara Estate to present our Community Benefit & Protection Charter: a commitment to transparency, accountability, shared growth and protecting both people and land for generations to come. Community work can be the most fulfilling when approached with care, honesty and the dignity of those who own and have cared for the land. Muhammed keeps towering over us like he gave birth to both Aisha and I 😆

After our community meeting, we spent the rest of the day documenting trees that have stood here long before us. Because when communities are asked to choose between protecting the environment and putting food on the table, we have to prove that preservation can also create economic opportunity. Sometimes the most valuable thing is what already exists if we choose to see it differently. Seeing this take shape day in and out has been one of my favorite parts of the process 🌱
