🌟 Starting to feelthe Mid-February Resolution Itch? 🌟
February is right around the corner!!
Did you know? Most New Year's resolutions, especially gym and health commitments, start to wane around mid-February. It's a common trend where the enthusiasm for those brand-new gym memberships or being more health conscious begins to diminish, and our fitness goals seem a bit more daunting.
But this is the moment to shift your mindset. This is the moment to stop thinking about it has a New Year’s resolution but rather think about it as creating a sustainable lifestyle that will last the rest of your life. This is the moment to say that my new habits ARE MY NEW NORM!
Consider this: The "newness" of the New Year fades as soon as the first day passes. The celebrations end. The Christmas lights come down. We go back to work on the second day. We go back to dealing with issues that we put on hold for the Christmas/New Year’s break. We go back to our normal routines. The newness of the New Year fades fast.
So, when we label our goals as "New Year's resolutions," what leads us to believe that they will endure beyond this brief period of newness?
So continuing what we started begins with having the right mindset!!
🔄 Instead of seeing your new commitments as short-term fixes, embrace them as long-term changes that enhance your life. If you’re starting to feel the itch, maybe it's time to tweak your routine, try a new class, or find a workout buddy for extra motivation. Let every day be a new day so that you maintain the same enthusiasm that you had at for it at New Years.
Remember, it's completely normal to feel this mid-February itch. Use this time to rekindle that new year's spark. Reflect on the PROGRESS you've already made and why you started.
