Du 5 au 18 mai, La Place accueillera la Wu-Lab Exhibition , dévoilant une collection d’objets uniques, encore jamais montrés, qui vous fera voyager dans l’univers du Wu-Tang Clan. Ce groupe mythique de rap américain formé au début des années 90 par RZA (leader et producteur du groupe) fêtera ses 25 ans en 2018.

À cette occasion, Olivier Annet N’Guessan (journaliste et acteur
de l’industrie du Hip Hop) et John Mook Gibbons (cousin de RZA
et PDG de Wu Tang Management) ont imaginé une exposition rétrospective sans précédent rassemblant peintures, disques, vêtements en série limitée, photographies inédites, objets d’art...
Le tout dans une mise en scène spéciale créée pour l’occasion.

« L’idée, c’est de permettre au grand public de se plonger dans l’imaginaire ultra prolifique du groupe, dont le logo et plus largement l’esthétique ont inspiré des dizaines d’artistes en tout genre : stylistes, designers... »

Mais le phénomène Wu-Tang va bien au-delà de sa musique. Très vite, son esprit et son identité ont été déclinés à travers toutes sortes d’objets, souvent réalisés par des artistes de renom, et dont
certains seront exposés pour la première fois. Le groupe a marqué les esprits par sa musique et sa discographie
impressionnante : Enter The Wu-Tang (36 chambers) considéré
comme l’un des meilleurs albums rap de tous les temps, Wu-Tang
Forever vendu à près de cinq millions d’exemplaires, ou encore
Once Upon a time in Shaolin, dont l’unique exemplaire édité a été
vendu aux enchères pour deux millions de dollars (soit l’album le
plus cher jamais vendu au monde). Durant son passage à , elle sera rythmée par plusieurstemps forts :

• Vendredi 5 mai - 18h :
Vernissage public + DJ set en présence de l'un des DJs officiels du Wu-Tang
Projection du film documentaire "Wu, The Story
of The Wu Tang Clan"

• Samedi 6 mai :
Toute la journée : rencontre avec certains membres du Wu-Tang Clan

• Mercredi 10 mai :
Après-midi : Visite et ateliers Kids'N Play spécial Wu-Tang

• Jeudi 11 mai :
En soirée : présentation du livre WU LAB de Olivier Annet N'Guessan
A l'occasion de la 1ère exposition mondiale sur le groupe de Hip hop new-yorkais "Wu-Tang Clan", un livre à la fois catalogue d'exposition et regard sur le travail des artistes et créateurs qui ont été inspirés directement par le groupe et son univers sera publié. Après avoir été exposée en avant-première à , WU LAB est destinée à une tournée mondiale en 2018, dont la prochaine escale est prévue à Londres.

Some moments can't be bought, staged, or faked.
Being invited to spend time with Smif-N-Wessun during their soundcheck before their last Paris show (20th March 2026) was a true honor. Not many people get to experience that kind of trust from living legends.
Almost 30 years of friendship... built on respect, loyalty, and a shared love for Hip Hop.
I just want to say thank you to Tek and Steele for your unwavering support, your kindness, and your loyalty throughout my journey. Those things mean more than words can express.
People often think podcasts, interviews, or social media define a person. They don't.
Your values define you. Your actions define you. Your love for Hip Hop defines you.
As we say... no blah blah. Real recognize real.

Being Black and a collector still means having to constantly explain the reason behind this passion. As if curiosity, love for history, art, and preservation always needed justification.

For more than 33 years now, I’ve been collecting objects, archives, rare pieces, and cultural memories. To me, it has always felt natural. Collecting is not about accumulation. It’s about preserving memories, telling stories, sharing emotions, and allowing people to discover incredible objects filled with soul and history.

During the Wu-Tang pop-up store, I decided to exhibit photographs, glasses, sneakers, paintings, and many other pieces. Not to showcase a frozen collection behind glass, but to witness the smiles, the curiosity, and the emotions appearing on people’s faces.

And I want to make one thing very clear: exhibiting Wu-Tang pieces does not mean I only collect Wu-Tang. Hip-Hop is universal. It crosses generations, borders, and cultures. Just like the immeasurable love I have carried for this culture throughout my life.

Passing things on and sharing this passion is probably the most beautiful part of the journey.

For the first time, I’m unveiling a piece from our collection with , the Wu Tang rim. A project launched a long time ago that never saw the light of day.

It will remain one of the hidden gems in the magical history of the Wu. One of the last pieces is now available.
