🚨💡 Exciting News! 🚨💡

We’re thrilled to announce that Blue Engine has been accepted to present at 2025! 🎉 Our session Bridging the Gap: Centering Students with Disabilities is a collaboration with Marshall Street and The Center for Learner Equity. This session is crucial as we approach the 50th anniversary of the federal law guaranteeing students with disabilities a free and appropriate public education. As an organization dedicated to learner variability, it’s clear that the promise remains unfulfilled.

Shoutout to Tiffany Galloway (she/her), who will represent us on the panel! Tiffany is a veteran inclusive education leader with a deep commitment to advancing equity and inclusion for historically marginalized populations. As Blue Engine’s Chief Product & Program Officer, she has led transformational efforts to address learner variability in schools, and her expertise in equity-centered design makes her a powerful advocate for students with disabilities. As a neurodivergent individual herself, Tiffany’s lived experience fuels her advocacy for more inclusive, equitable educational environments. We’re excited to have her voice and leadership guiding this critical conversation!

Learn how Longwood Preparatory Academy (LPA) closed the gap in graduation rates for students with disabilities (SWDs) and English Language Learners! Assistant Principal, Michelle Vendetti shares how their team, with the support of Blue Engine, shifted their instructional practices to teach to learner variability when high-quality instructional materials (HQIM) alone was not addressing the learning needs for all students.

A special shout-out to Jessi, Megan, Sam, and Tiffany, members of the Blue Team! In collaboration with Marshall Street, they shared their expertise to develop Research-to-Impact Practice Collections. This resource addresses how educators can meet the diverse needs of students with disabilities — especially students from historically underserved backgrounds.

Over three years, educators, researchers, and content experts developed evidence-based practices to improve learning experiences, environments, and outcomes for Black and Latinx students with disabilities experiencing poverty.

These practices include strategies to:
1. Improve reading for secondary students
2. Build collaboration between general and special education teams
3. Use data to provide better student supports
4. Enable students to pursue choice-filled postsecondary pathways
5. Support students with emotional-based disabilities
