Can I tell you something? 🤍
For those of you who don’t know, at 24 years old, I went through one of the darkest periods of my life.
I lost sight of myself. I couldn’t see a clear future, I questioned my purpose, and for a period of time, I struggled with thoughts that I never imagined I would have.
Sometimes I receive messages from people telling me how much I motivate or inspire them, and I just think to myself…
If only you knew.
If only you knew there was once a version of me who couldn’t see the life that I’m living today.
I don’t share this because I’m ready to tell every detail of that chapter of my life. Some parts of my story are still mine to keep.
But I do share it because I want to remind you of something…
Please be kind to people.
You have absolutely no idea what someone is carrying behind the version of themselves they allow the world to see.
Words matter. How you treat people matters. The things you say about someone, the way you make them feel, the way you choose to treat them when nobody else is watching—it all matters.
During that period of my life, I thank God for my mother, my father, and my brothers. They carried me when I did not have the strength to carry myself.
They read Scripture to me every single day and every single night. My parents had me sleep in their bed with them. They reminded me over and over again that my life had purpose.
And most importantly, when I couldn’t remind myself, they reminded me that I was loved.
I AM LOVED.
And now, when I look at my life, I sometimes think about the 24-year-old version of me.
She had absolutely no idea what was waiting for her.
She didn’t know how many beautiful moments she would experience. How many prayers would be answered. How much she would grow. How many people she would one day inspire simply by continuing to live her life.
To tell the person who needs to hear this:
Your darkest chapter does not get to tell you how your story ends.
You are loved.
You are not alone.
And there is an entire life waiting for you that you simply cannot see yet.
Please stay long enough to meet it. 🤍
