Stories help people understand the world and their place within it. They can make someone feel seen, or quietly tell them that they were never part of the audience.

Susette Brooks, Director of Inclusive Marketing at Penguin Random House, helps connect multicultural audiences with stories created for them. Her work demonstrates why inclusive marketing is about more than representation. It is also about trust, belonging, access, and growth.

At Inclusive By Design, Susette will help us consider what changes when marketers treat people as participants in the story, not simply as targets of a campaign.

Some members are part of a chapter for a few years. Others become part of its history.

We recently looked back through our membership records and discovered that Conrad Nankin first joined AMA New York in 1975.

That means Conrad has been part of the AMA New York community for 51 years.

Five decades of connection to the marketing community is something worth recognizing. We’re grateful for Conrad’s continued membership and for the long-standing support of members who have helped shape this chapter across generations of marketers.

Thank you, Conrad, for 51 years with AMA New York.

Happy Birthday to AMA New York’s Secretary and Treasurer: Karen McFarlane

As AI continues to transform how we work, one question is becoming increasingly important: How do we future-proof our careers?

To this point, we're recommending an article by AMA New York Treasurer and Secretary Karen McFarlane that explores the growing "AI gap" and what professionals can do to stay relevant in a rapidly changing environment: "The AI Gap in Your Career Strategy" https://www.amanewyork.org/the-ai-gap-in-your-career-strategy/

It’s a timely read for marketers, researchers, and business leaders alike.
