Coaches Supporting Coaches 🫶

Our last stop on this month’s trip around the Mid-Atlantic, we headed to the first state—Delaware—to work with the talented coaching team at

Our program was entitled “Strategies for Effective Coaching and Feedback.” Together we addressed how to successfully coach clients through difficult conversations, practice reflective listening, and work productivity across generational differences.

Our day was filled with lots of laughs and some great serious discussions. It was wonderful to hear participants’ insights on their coaching experiences. Indeed, it was a day to collectively learn from each other.

It is always a privilege to serve Reading Assist in their mission to create success for struggling readers!

Express Yourself! 📣🎶

DDC kicked off the month by heading to Baltimore, Maryland to work with the amazing folks at

Creative Alliance serves as a pillar of the community in Baltimore with the mission of supporting artists and providing opportunities for development through arts education.

Our program was entitled “Building Trust and Team Connection.” Together we tackled how to support a culture of greater psychological safety, healthy conflict, and authentic discourse. So grateful for and impressed by the cohort’s insights and enthusiasm.

It was an honor to work with such a beneficial, heart-led organization and its leaders!

In a minute, I’ma need a sentimental, facilitator to train me up! 🎶-Lizzo

Last week, we led our cohort of curious and talented coaches in a training for . The topic was “Building Bias Awareness in Coaching.” Together, we collectively discussed strategies for mitigating the impact of biases when they show up in coaching sessions.

By far our favorite part: Listening to the diverse perspectives of the international coaching community. It was so generous of folks to step into their courage and share real and vulnerable moments of their encounters with bias. The experience of learning from one another inspired greater understanding and connection among our team.

“ON THE ROAD AGAIN… 🎵” 🐲🐲

Last week our Zach Handler went on the road to Wilmington, Delaware to facilitate for leaders in educational equity from Reading Assist.

The topic of the program was “Connecting through Strengths, Vision and Values.” Participants celebrated each other’s superpowers, shared about what motivates them at work, and set intentions for contributing to organizational objectives.

Our session ended with a fun, all-hands-on-deck challenge that allowed folks to exhibit their individual strengths, come together as a team and collectively showcase their rapping skills with an original hip-hop anthem. 🎤🎤🎤

We are always so happy to support Reading Assist in their critical goal of closing the literacy gap through helping at-risk youth become more confident and proficient readers.

Happy New Year from Double Dragon Coaching! 🐉 🐉

Our co-founders, & had a blast at our annual retreat. We took time to reflect on our growth from the past year and strategized on how we can bring our services to more companies and teams in the new year. 💼📈

We feel optimistic for 2022. We also understand that remote work, COVID, and the Great Resignation are still causing obstacles for employers looking to thrive and develop inclusive, high-quality cultures within their organizations.

The topic of the training was “Thriving as a Reading Assist Fellow: Confidence, Community and Commitment.”

The fellow’s willingness to jump in and participate made for such a spirited and fun training!

Looking forward to coming back to support trainees in their ongoing journey to support young people and close the literacy gap.

A healthy society takes care of its young. And right now Gen Z, those born between about 1996 and 2015 and ranging from 5-24 years old, need our help.

People of all generations have experienced loss and disruption as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, but it's the youngest generation of blossoming professionals that may have the heaviest and longest financial burdens to carry.

The good news: these well-educated, diverse, and tech-savvy individuals have a bold vision for the future and are eager to contribute to building back a better world. All they ask for is the opportunity.

When you hear the name “Double Dragon” most people think of the legendary twin brothers, Jimmy & Billy Lee who inspired the hit game, animated series, and feature film.

However, in the story Double Dragon refers not only to the brothers, but also to a magic medallion, THE Double Dragon which has been split into two pieces and can only exercise its power when combined with the other half.

In our case Double Dragon refers not just to us, but to the extraordinary partnerships we create with our clients.

Top Takeaways from our great interview with AIGA today:

(1) If you want to improve your company culture, start by ASKING YOUR PEOPLE what they want and need. A simple online survey can be insightful and an easy starting point.

(2) A little bit of structure goes a long way in a virtual environment. Empower your team by letting them know what to expect and when/how to contribute during a video meeting.

(3) Make room for people to speak and listen to each other. Sometimes the best part of a Zoom is when people get to connect through conversation.
