Did you write a playbook for your business?

Whenever I hear the term playbook in the context of business, it always makes me believe that there’s gonna be some insider information.

You know, the hidden secrets made available only to those who actually read the thing.

And more often than not, after seeing the playbook, I’m left shaking my head because there was no “insider tip”.

I made these slides the other day because I was getting frustrated by playbooks that don’t give you the plays.

👻 We built a Snapchat connector that pulls in story data from Snapchat, aggregates it, and displays it to the user.

Today we tried to backfill some of the data to onboard a new client.

🍀 Unfortunately, it didn’t go as smooth as we had expected it to

🤷🏻‍♂️How am I supposed to add predictive analytics features when the simple stuff breaks?

🤔I often wonder if it’s better to work globally or locally and there’s something to be said about working in similar time zones

🔨 like when something breaks, and you lose a day because the start of your day is the end of someone else’s.

If I sold cars, I wouldn't wait for the next customer to walk in.

Instead, I would run ads on this platform because you can send curated content that reaches more people in less time, where they want to be...their phones.

Do Not Under Estimate the Amount Of Time and Effort It Takes to Come Up With the Strategy/Idea/Creative Vision for an Ad

Once you have this defined, you still need to make the creative (videos or images or both), write the ad copy, and likely set up a web page to create the "funnel".

And that's another thing.

There is so much noise out there that makes you think you need their help to do the job.

Most of the time you spend a lot of money and don't get what you paid for.

My goal is to help you understand "the work" because no one can really be an expert on products that have been around for a couple of years.
