When organizations from different sides of the world collaborate, having a 𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐡𝐲 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐧𝐞𝐫 becomes essential. This month, together with our partners, we officially commenced the 3-week intensive bootcamp under the 𝐖𝐞𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧 & 𝐃𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐣𝐨𝐛𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐢𝐧 𝐒𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐓𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐦 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭, bringing together youth- and women-led tourism enterprises from the Rwenzori–Albertine region.

The bootcamp is designed to equip participants with practical business training, mentorship, and market linkages to strengthen and grow sustainable tourism enterprises within their communities.

“The WeWork Green & Decent Jobs for Youth in Sustainable Tourism Project” is implemented by Einstein Rising and EyeOpenerWorks through the Ukarimu Academy Program, in partnership with Enabel in Uganda Enabel in Uganda and Rwenzori Tourism Academy.

My internship at Einstein Rising was an enriching and eye-opening experience. From the very first weeks, I had the opportunity to engage directly with entrepreneurs while preparing for Kampala Impact Day, visiting communities, documenting innovative businesses, and learning firsthand how local solutions are transforming lives.

One project that deeply touched me was Skills for Change UG, which equips young women from vulnerable communities with tailoring and entrepreneurship skills to help them build sustainable livelihoods. I strongly believe that with more funding and partnerships, this initiative has the potential to impact even more young girls throughout the year.

What makes Einstein Rising special is its inclusive and impact-driven approach, where people from different backgrounds are empowered and supported. Beyond the projects, one of my biggest takeaways from Uganda is the incredible hospitality and unity among the people, something I hope to continue advocating for when I return to Belgium.

Commencing with 𝐈𝐓 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐝𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬, women entrepreneurs in Eastern Uganda are strengthening their capacity with practical digital skills for sustainable business growth.

Through hands-on learning led by Info-Code Consults Limited, participants are exploring effective utilization of Google Workspace tools for business operations, including Google Drive for secure file management and sharing, Google Docs for collaboration, Google Sheets for record keeping and financial tracking, and digital communication platforms for virtual engagement and productivity.

The training also emphasizes leveraging smartphones as accessible business tools, enabling entrepreneurs to manage documents, track finances, communicate with clients, create content, and run daily business operations conveniently from their phones.

This week marks the 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐋𝐚𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐡 of the WE4A Program for 𝐄𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧 𝐔𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐚, bringing together passionate 𝐖𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧 𝐄𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐮𝐫𝐬 from districts including Katakwi, Jinja, Buyende, Busia, Soroti, Serere, Kaliro, Tororo, Bulambuli, Manafwa, Bugiri, Mbale, and beyond.

The onboarding sessions in Iganga have been filled with energy, excitement, and a shared commitment to building sustainable and green women-led enterprises. We are excited to begin this journey of strengthening businesses through practical skills, market access, and growth opportunities.

The Programme (IYBA WE4A Project) strengthens access to funding, market opportunities, green growth, and business development training for women entrepreneurs.
