Shock & Floc Method Above Ground Pool Cleaning

This above ground pool was completely green and needed a fast turnaround 😬

Using the shock and floc method, we were able to break down the algae, drop the debris to the bottom, and get this pool back to normal in just 48 hours 💪💦

Here’s what the process looked like:

✔️ High-dose shock treatment to kill algae
✔️ Flocculant added to bind fine particles together
✔️ Debris and dead algae settled to the floor
✔️ Vacuumed to waste for removal
✔️ Filtration and circulation to finish clearing the water

When used properly, the shock and floc method can be a great way to restore an above ground pool quickly and get it back to clean, clear, swim-ready water 💎💦

First pool closing of the year! 🍂❄️

Pool closing season is officially starting, so we’re taking you through our process for properly winterizing an inground swimming pool and sharing some professional tips and tricks along the way.

A good pool closing isn’t just about putting the cover on. The goal is to protect the plumbing, equipment, pool surface, and water from freezing temperatures and make next season’s opening as smooth as possible.

Our pool winterization process includes:

✔️ Testing and balancing the water chemistry
✔️ Preparing the pool for the off-season
✔️ Lowering the water level when necessary
✔️ Blowing out the plumbing lines
✔️ Plugging returns and protecting the skimmers
✔️ Winterizing the pump, filter, heater, and other equipment
✔️ Adding winterizing chemicals
✔️ Removing accessories and securing the equipment pad
✔️ Installing and properly securing the winter cover

We’ll also show you some pro pool tips and tricks we use in the field to help prevent freeze damage, broken plumbing, and expensive surprises in the spring.

A little extra work during the closing can make a HUGE difference when it’s time to reopen. 💦

💬 Are you closing your pool yourself this year or hiring a professional?

The House Is Being Demolished… So We’re Closing the Pool Early

Our most viral Green-to-Clean pool is getting closed a little earlier than expected this year because the house is scheduled to be demolished. 😳

So instead of another crazy transformation, we’re showing you exactly how we properly winterize and close an inground swimming pool for the off-season.

A proper pool closing is about much more than just throwing a cover on. The goal is to protect the plumbing, equipment, pool surface, and water throughout the winter so everything is ready to reopen next season.

Our inground pool closing process includes:

✔️ Balancing and preparing the pool water
✔️ Lowering the water to the proper level when needed
✔️ Blowing out and winterizing the plumbing lines
✔️ Plugging returns and protecting skimmers
✔️ Winterizing the pump, filter, heater, and equipment
✔️ Adding winterizing chemicals
✔️ Removing accessories and securing equipment
✔️ Installing and securing the winter cover

It’s a little bittersweet closing this one early after all the insane Green-to-Clean transformations we’ve done here, but at least we get to show you the full winterization process before it goes. 💦

This Pool Cover Was Covered in SLUDGE 🤢 | Extreme Pool Cleaning

This pool opening started with an absolutely disgusting layer of thick sludge covering the entire pool cover 🤢💦

Before we could even get to the pool water, we had to deal with all the mud, leaves, decomposing organic debris, and nasty buildup sitting on top.

This was a full extreme pool cleaning from the very beginning:

✔️ Removed heavy sludge and debris from the cover
✔️ Pumped off dirty standing water
✔️ Carefully removed the pool cover
✔️ Cleaned out leaves and organic material
✔️ Brushed and vacuumed the pool
✔️ Balanced the water chemistry
✔️ Shocked and filtered until the water started clearing

Pool openings like this are messy, but they’re also some of the most satisfying transformations to watch.

From sludge-covered disaster to a clean backyard pool 💎💦

💬 Would you even want to touch this cover? 😂
