The seller had run the business for a decade. Strong recurring contracts, long-tenured teams, and a loyal customer base. What he did not have was an exit plan.
The buyer wanted route density in the market. The fit was clear. The teams stayed on, and the owner exited on his own terms.
One note for other owners: finding the right buyer usually takes 6-12 months. The best time to start is while the business is still performing well, not after you are ready to leave.
If you own a service business, thinking about exiting, and have no future plan in place, I am happy to talk.
