Sounds amazing on Instagram, right?
And everyone gets excited.
But honestly?
It drives me crazy.
Because I know what is really happening behind the scenes.
Gross is not net.
Every time someone shares a big launch number, ask the quiet question:
What did they actually take home?
Because that is the number that pays the light bill.
The numbers may not be exact because every launch is different.
Some people have higher expenses.
Some people have lower expenses.
Some people have a team.
Some people have ad spend.
Some people have affiliates.
Some people have software, contractors, refunds, taxes, and payment fees.
So please understand this:
That launch number they are sharing is usually gross revenue.
It is not always what they actually bring home.
It is the number before expenses.
Let’s set realistic expectations.
You don’t know if this is their first launch or their 50th.
You don’t know if this is their first business attempt or their 20th.
You don’t know what they spent to get that number.
So no, you are not behind.
You are just being shown a half-truth.
